Daesang, which translates to “great achievement”, is a Korean BBQ brand that has been around since 1910. Daesang provides a wide range of Korean food, including traditional Korean table sauces and condiments. There are three main types of table sauces and condiments found at Daesang: soy sauce, gochujang, and doenjang. Soy sauce is made with soybeans and salt and gives a salty, umami flavor. Soy sauce is used as a meat dipping sauce or as an alternative to salt and pepper. Gochujang is a spicy red chili paste made from fermented red chili and glutinous rice and has a sweet, nutty flavor. It is mixed with water to give it its typical consistency, but may also be made into a paste with flour. Doenjang is a fermented bean paste that is commonly used as a base for many stews and as a dipping sauce for grilled meats.
