Pimlico is a British biscuit and confectionery company that has been around for over 150 years. The company started in 1856, by George Hunt and Peter Cross when they bought a mill on the river Thames in London. Originally, the company created bread and biscuit mixes to sell to their customers. In 1902, they opened their first shop on the high street with more than 100 different products available. In 1906, they released their first sweet bread, which was a recipe of a secret family recipe made with milk, eggs, sugar and butter. In 1927, they created a new recipe which was still using milk, eggs, sugar and butter but it also included raisins, currants and sultanas. In 1937, they introduced their Muffin Mix. It was originally called Pimlico Bread Mix but was renamed when it was discovered that a competitor had already trademarked the name "Pimlico."
