15’s for the rest of us!!!
These things were a bargain! I would buy two more if I had the cash. I’m in a band, and we were using Bose L1’s. These speakers blow the Bose speakers out of the water. I was a stickler for sound quality, and these did everything that the Bose did. And they are 1000 W, so they blow the Bose speakers away. There is a really, really tiny amount of noise when nothing is playing, but it will never be an issue in a crowded room. Definitely the most bang for your buck. They also will probably work as the cheapest keyboard/Electronic drum kit powered speaker. Thank you Rockville.

The box and packing material are fine for palletized shipping
Three stars pending further info. Pair of speakers I ordered arrived as described by others here in the original Rockville packaging with no overpack. The box and packing material are fine for palletized shipping, but are not enough to truly protect the speakers the way UPS throws things around. There is fitted styrofoam at the top and bottom but if the sides of the boxes get pushed in, like mine did, the sides will make contact with the speaker, especially the large speaker grill. The fronts of my speakers were fine. A couple of the cooling fins on one of the speakers had been damaged in transit and when I plugged it in there was an immediate and constant loud hum. It went away when I plugged an SLR cable daisy chained from the other speaker and it worked fine but the hum came back when the input was removed. I'm not counting on that lasting so I have entered a return for the speaker. I didn't get to mess around with them much but they sounded decent. I have placed an order for another speaker. Once I spend more time with two working speakers I will give a better review of the speakers themselves. I REALLY want to like these speakers, and I may yet, but I can't give a complete review at this point. And a warning: Neither box contained the floor monitor brackets mentioned in the description and pic. I have very recently contacted the seller about that besides returning the one damaged speaker but it's too soon to expect an answer just yet. When I know more, you'll know more.Edit: I’ve upgraded my review to five stars. I have been using these speakers for quite a while now and I love them! They sound phenomenal and I get compliments on a regular basis on how clear they sound. The cabinet scars easily, so you need to be careful with them, but they are more than worth the price! I’m ordering a fourth speaker for an outdoor gig I have next month.

Great sound quality at a great price, No Bluetooth or wheels, but solid cabinet.
Long time Rockville speaker fan: This speaker came as refurbished and was packed well, and looked new. It was missing the stands, which I will contact Rockville and I am sure they will send.Sound is strong and loud, puts out great bass and no distortion that I noticed. Has a solid cabinet and firm grip to carry.I am a little disappointed that it does not have wheels or Bluetooth. The 12" version RPG12 said it had Bluetooth and I just assumed it was the same. I think the RPG12 description is wrong. I have the 800w BPA15 which also sounds good, but needed something with more power, and the BPA15 has wheels, Bluetooth, FM radio, SD card, USB, which make it much more versatile. So, I was a little disappointed by the lack of wheels and Bluetooth on this RPG15 (I don't plan on SD, USB or FM radio, but they were nice options) These option are available on the RPG15BT V2 (also has a fold down handle) (I think I may be able to add wheels, but I will update my review if that is an option)Given this, I probably will use this as a monitor speaker which I don't use often. I think the connectivity for a microphone with gain and a two way mixer is good, and the ability to use XLR, 1/4" jack, and RCA, make this worthwhile for music focused use. I do how the treble and bass allow for fine tuning the speaker for playback.I may add the RPG15BT V2 rather than the RPG 15 in the future, but for now I am satisfied with this. The build quality of this speak is great, functionality is average, and the portability is average. The power and performance is the high point, along with the cost! Rockville can put out great sound products at a great price.

RPG15: Packs a Punch for Not a Bunch
I've had this speaker for over 7 months now. I use it every now and then, not as often as I would like, but I believe I am now qualified to write a review on it. Yes, it has held up, which is probably one of the primary concerns for many people looking at a Dj speaker under $200. It has a pretty decent construction and I can't see any scuffs which I may have caused the unit to receive in various transports. The sound quality is quite good. It goes pretty loud compared to some of the "budget friendly" Dj speakers and their not-so-acclaimed companies I have used before. Bass is pretty decent; it gets quite low (in Hz) for a speaker and can be cranked up (in SPL) on the unit itself. I have actually set the speaker on my floor with the bass cranked up and had some lighter objects fall off my shelves. However, the extra-low frequencies don't travel that far or give the chest thump from a distance as many people see as a drawback. I would just like to remind the purchaser(s) of this product that it is a speaker, not a subwoofer. I think this would be greatly complimented by a Rockville RBG18FA to help with the low end, but the speaker should not really be knocked off points for that. The weight is somewhat on the beefier side and should be taken into account by potential buyers.I believe you actually get much more than what you pay for with this unit. It is half the cost of many similar entry level units and offers much more. For less than $200, this speaker lessens the economic gap many starting Djs have to get over to get out there and do their thing. I give it 5 stars.
