A high quality tool for young practical entomologists
The insect net is well constructed and very easy the assemble. My ten years old did it without difficulty. The handle is the longest that I could find on Amazon. Both handle and ring are made of light-weight and durable materials perfect for long time outdoor insect collecting activities. The nylon net itself is light, soft, with a wide opening of 16" ring size, especially suitable for catching fragile flying insects, such as butterflies, moths, and dragonflies, while minimizing the risk of damaging the specimens. The insect net sports a 36" net depth, more than twice as long as the diameter of its ring, a feature that any professional insect collector can value for it efficiently prevent caught insects from escaping. Moreover, the price tag is reasonable for such a well designed and high-quality tool.

way better than other net i bought around the same price
way bigger than a 12 inch ring and pretty sturdy would probably bend if u slammed it into a tree or the ground tho. the top of the net is not round its flat which makes it easer to catch things close the the ground

Great net, could be sturdier for serious use
We are Monarch Butterfly taggers and tag about 100 butterflies each Autumn. We have owned three of these nets. They are a nice size and the telescoping handle makes it nice to store when not in use and keep in our tagging bin for the car. They have a nice long tail and wide opening so you don't hurt your catch which is good but for a serious catcher they start to wear out after a season or two. The screw piece that holds the telescoping handle wears out, and on two the handles, which are glued on come off. This would be a good not for someone just getting into tagging or a child looking to catch and release.

Great net for catching flying bugs.
Great. Used for catching wasps that get inside building and it works every time.

Net Too Small
The net was too small and tore while trying to assemble the hoop. Had to return it.

Cheap and easy to break
It’s great for catching my own team flighted Birds, But I already broke it and it’s super cheap. I’d save up for a better net next time, but this is good for now.

Perfect for catching carpenter bees
The only reason to get this thing was to catch carpenter bees, and this thing worked great!Sturdy enough for swinging around my deck and knocking.

Bought it because of my cockatiel. Perfect!
My cockatiel retains her ability to fly, and we love letting her zip around the house. She’s got an attitude however, especially about going back into her cage when we need her to.This net did the trick. It is nice and wide, so I was able to catch her in it without harm, and now I don’t need to actually catch her with it anymore. All I have to do is get it out and she will fly over to her cage, where if I put down the net and go over to her she will hop onto my hand and back into her cage with no further issue. If you have a small flighted pet bird, get one of these. You know, just in case.
