Cheapest programmable numpad, but still good quality

For the price, absolutely great. The numpad has good keys that are nice to press and feel like decent quality. They aren't mechanical, but have been fine for me. The numpad is a bit misleading in the photos, but it actually comes with a detachable micro-USB cable which is a nice bonus. Even more that the cable seems higher quality than your run of the mill cable. My favorite part, however, is the programmability of the numpad. You can go to the website and download their program. It's pretty lightweight, dosen't need a username or any stupid stuff. In the program you click on an image of the numpad and it opens up an image of a keyboard with clickable keys that you use to choose the macro. It's pretty simple and is missing the ability to choose more irregular keys like f12-f24 or mouse buttons 4 and 5, but you can choose multiple keys at once so it works great for like ctrl+shift+T to reopen a browser tab. You have the ability to import and export profiles, which is really nice. Also, the changes are saved to the device, so you don't need to have the program running in the background, and I'm pretty sure you can just plug into another computer and it'll work, albeit I have yet to test this. The software also has a macro editor, although I don't really like this part. It has a really weird interface and for some reason I had trouble getting it to close when I opened it the first time. It can do more complicated stuff than the keyboard interface, like timings between keystrokes, but it still can't do stuff like mouse button 4 or mouse movements, so I really haven't had much use for it.I personally keep the numpad close to my mouse and use it for one handed web browsing, closing sites with ctrl-w, going back and forward with alt+left and alt+right, and moving between tabs with ctrl+pgup and ctrl+pgdn.

Works GREAT! Other top comments are INCORRECT.

One of the current top comments states that macros can only be written to X1, X2 and X3. That is completely false. I have macros written on almost every button on the keypad. His other statements are wrong, as well.I am using this on a Tormach CNC machine to expedite certain keypresses.I have written keyboard, mouse and combo macros and it works perfectly.Want one button to type an entire sentence for you? Done.Want one button to move the mouse to a certain spot and left, middle or right click? Done.Want one button to move the mouse to a dialog box, left click, enter a bunch of text, then press enter? Done.Software is just a touch buggy, like a final beta, but after you learn the quirks (will take a few seconds at most), it's easy. The product itself is well made and doesn't feel like china junk. Penclic appears to be Swedish. IDK if the keypads are made there, but it's a good looking device.

A gem with rough areas

Cons you should be aware of:- Once a key is mapped num-lock doesn't work.Which means: Map B to 2 then it's just B no Down arrow on num-lock.Which means: There is not two layers you get 22-keys to remap.- Only X1, X2, & X3 can have Macros mapped to them.- Can only map common keys no F13-26 or extra mouse buttons.- Media keys can only be mapped to X1, X2, & X3Pros:- Any hotkey/combo can be used on any key [Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Win+F] for example can be mapped to any key.- Even the Num-lock key can be remapped which is very important once you remap everything else.- Detachable micro-USB and comes with a pretty long starting cable.- Works on USB hubs.- On board memory = Works plug & play after configured and you can use on USB KVM systems.

Well built compact numeric keypad

Was looking for a small keypad to use with my development notebook computer. This is a very good choice and offers a small footprint and good features. The keys are good sized, and have good action. The overall construction appears to be very good, and the USB cable is long enough to also be used with a desktop computer where the computer would be under the desk.I'm using this with a Linux installation on the notebook, using Ubuntu 19.04. While it document says only Winows supports launching the calculator application I found that the feature is also working on my Linux installation. If you press the Num Lock key twice the default Linux calculator application launches.I haven't yet explored the programmable capabilities so I can't comment on that. I've downloaded the software but probably would need to use my Windows machine to do the actual programming, but haven't had a need to do that yet.If I need another keypad in the future I would buy this again.
