A great value!
There's not necessarily any new information in this book that isn't on the internet, but having it all in one place and spelled out very easily is incredibly valuable.I followed that full 12-week program which resulted in some lost weight, increased strength, and more muscle tone! More importantly I feel like it helped me develop a habit of working out that I intend to continue.Pros:- All exercises are described fully.- If an exercise is unable to be performed, several alternatives are mentioned.- It touches on many different aspects of working out. Eating healthy, which supplements are worth it, stretching, etc.- Hard to beat that price.Cons:- Why aren't the page numbers for the exercise included in the workout plan? You literally have the page numbers in the index of the book, it wouldn't have been hard to add them to the workout plan. Instead I have to flip back and forth, or write in the page number myself.- Wish it would've expanded more on the nutrition side.

Perfect for those who want to get in shape
Today I finished the 12-week program. I learned a ton about weight lifting; including how to do the many workouts, when to do them, when to take days off, calculating the volume of a workout, the difference between strength building and muscle building, and more. I didn’t think I could follow the workout schedule but I did, and it is possible for anyone, even working a full time job with overtime. I plan on keeping up with the workouts now that I finished the program. There are noticeable differences in my body from day 1 to now. Great book!

Great Book!
I recently started programming my own training. Previously, I had worked with a trainer for 6 or 7 years, so I feel that I am familiar enough with weight training to consider myself beyond the beginner stage, but unfortunately lack the education to make programs based on experience alone. I bought this book for reference and to assist me in making my own programs.Overall, I feel the book is a great reference. It contains instructions on how to do a variety of exercises with proper form, different stretches, nutritional advice, and it has a 12-week beginner program in the back of the book to help get you started, which helps cut out the confusion on where to start in the gym.I think this book would be most useful to someone who is just starting on their training journey with the assistance of a trainer or a friend who has experience with weight training. I've found myself referencing this book when programming a new training schedule.I would like to see a sequel to this book geared for someone who is more intermediate. I've scoured the internet for books and articles to assist training (My most coveted reference books at the moment are Jim Wendler's 5/3/1, Periodization Training for Sports and Practical Programming for Strength Training. I also have subscribed to the author's email newsletters and reference breakingmuscle.com often), and while I've found some fantastic information from various sources, I feel they all lack the same thing: how to vary programming [on the three big lifts] to achieve higher strength goals. That being said, if you're interested in strength training and making it a long-term goal, this book is worth every penny.

A great book to start a fitness journey with.
I’ve been lifting weights since high school on and off but for the most part I eat like trash and lately I’ve made it a priority to clean that up so I have long lasting success. Kyle wrote such an informative book and I love how he started out with laying foundation for good nutrition before getting to the nitty gritty about exercise, form etc. If you are new to fitness and have an interest in bodybuilding this book is the perfect guide to help you build a solid foundation for your fitness journey.

Great information.
Very informative, he gives great insight into what bodybuilding is and how it's not instant. It takes time and patience to achieve the goals you have set

Truly for the BEGINNER
This is a decent intro to bodybuilding/fitness for the neophyte. All the topics a beginner needs to begin building his/her knowledge base are introduced in this book - however it is far, far away from being comprehensive. I understand a reference tome is not what the author intended, but if one embarks on fitness/body building he will quickly outgrow this book. To progress advanced-beginner and intermediate lifters have a more developed understanding of diet/nutrition, supplements, workout programs and additional exercises (e.g. Hunt only covers TWO triceps exercises). On the plus side, due to the brevity of the content it is enough to be engaging but not so dense as to become overwhelming. It is useful K. Hunt has a prescribed 12 week program within its pages to reduce guess work. I think Body Building for Beginners would best suit a young athlete new to weight lifting.

Helped get this previous weight lifter back on track
I’ve been out of working out for 5 years now, and was finding it hard to get back in the swing of things. I couldn’t get motivated to make up a routine for myself. This book has gotten me back and on track. Everything is easy to understand. Anything I’m still unclear about, I YouTube. The changes each week are manageable and I can stay on a week if the increase doesn’t seem feasible.

One small area for improvement
It’s a great little book with a wonderful 12 week plan to follow. I like how it lays the foundation and explains nutrition and exercise before jumping into the plan. My one complaint - the 12 week plan lists the exercises to complete, which are all found earlier in the book, but it does not list which page number that exercise is explained on. I spend so much time trying to find the exercise description and it just gets frustrating and so time consuming. There isn’t an easy reference index with all of the exercises and page numbers listed either. It’s a small change that would make the book much easier to follow.
