Great coffee and value, short date
Great smooth and rich coffee taste and an excellent price but the reason for the latter is the short date. Must be used within a few weeks of purchase whereas those widely available will have 2 years validity rather than 2 months.

quality strong coffee capsules which are reliable in our machine
I like strong coffee, so I have about 4 brands I will buy. What brand depends on when they are one some kind of special offer.Strong in my taste would be a rating over 10, and these suit my taste.Use at home with an Essenza Mini machine, and it's never missed a beat with these capsules.I like the fact they are claimed to be eco caps, although I have never tested this, we put them in with the regular rubbish on the assumption they break down in landfill.

The Best Lungo Capsules that I have Discovered...
Since purchasing my Nespresso machine just over a year ago. I have been in the search for the all illusive perfect lungo, for me. Even the strongest original Nespresso pods could not make a decent lungo (to weak and watery by far) and I have been using 2 pods per cup to give me the required strength, depth of flavour and body. I take 2 small shots from the first pod and then a second pod to give it an extra shot.I can't believe that I am the only person who likes a full bodied, strong and flavourful black coffee (I do not add milk or sugar to my coffee). I was beginning to wonder if it was at all possible to get a decent lungo out of this machine without trading it in and purchasing the bigger capsule virtuoso machine with a larger helping of coffee grounds and double the price per pod.I am pleased to be able to tell you that these capsules manage to deliver a proper sized lungo coffee that ticks all of the boxes for me. Strong, flavourful, and full bodied with a hint of bitterness on the first sip. So that you are reassured it is a decent brew. The only pod that I have left to try after this one, just to see how it compares, is the Illy brand. I will let you know how it goes. Until then I am more than happy that I have discovered these Lavazza pods.A close 2nd for me are the Cafe Nero pod. I find them better than the Nespresso originals but they still didn't quite deliver.Good luck on your own search for that perfect cup of coffee.I do not receive any payment or free goods for writing these reviews. I am just happy to share my views on my purchases with fellow like minded Amazonians in the hope that you may find it helpful.

Not as ECO-friendly as you might think
I was swayed to buy these pods over another of similar price because of their advertised eco credentials - but they cannot be composted at home as the packaging implies. The pods can only be processed using industrial techniques, and as this is not an option open to me (southern UK) they have just ended up in landfill. The coffee is tasty with good crema. The pods sometimes need a little nudge to sit in the machine because of their slightly thicker than usual rim. I wouldn't buy them again because of the misleading advertising.

Tasty and Good Value
It was only after purchase that I saw the negative reviewsI waited until i had used a few capsules before writing thisQuite honestly i found this product fine. Maybe manufacturer has listened to negative feedback and sorted problemsI did notice BBE date. But on mine it is nearly a year. Im sure I will use product by then. I have a small Nespresso machine which is portable enough for me to take to work and enjoy coffee which I share with other nurses. Pods will be used ! Lovely strong espresso flavour with a delicious bitter kick. Gorgeous aroma tooCant comment yet on compostability but i use grinds to deter slugs

Water struggles to penetrate the cap delivering a weak coffee experience
Bought these because they are relatively cheap and compostable and from a familiar brand but the pods themselves just don’t work very well. My machine (Inissia) just doesn’t make enough of a dent in the cap of the pod to let the water through sufficiently. On first try I got a watery, weak cup of coffee. When I looked at the pod later I saw there weren’t any holes in the cap and I actually thought I’d made a mistake and that I was supposed to peel something off but I was not mistaken, the weird plastic cap is just too tough: when the machine runs the water mostly bypasses the pod (and takes a long time doing it). I’ve experimented and found I could get a normal cup of coffee by piercing the cap a few time with the tip of a sharp knife but that does rather distract from the relaxing and simple experience I’m looking for from my coffee machine. I suppose I could just open them all up and poor the coffee into a percolator? In summary, a nice idea but poorly executed. Don’t buy.
