The media could not be loaded. This sniffer is very sensitive. I am impressed at how well such a low-cost device is working. I was able to pinpoint a leak coming from the side cap on my expansion valve. As shown in the video, the four o-ring pipe connections are fine, but a leak on the far side of the valve is detected. To confirm, I put a bubble solution there and could hear & see the bubbles. There were no false alarms, but remember that refrigerant vapor is heaver than air, so it will tend to settle downward. This can cause the sniffer to alarm when you are below the actual leak.

Very effective at finding freon leaks. They also work for propane, natural gas, gasoline leaks. Be patient, move the probe slowly as there is a delay. Then turn down the sensitivity to narrow down the leak.

Was money well spent here. My A/C in my car quit working on me. I had a leak for years but I'd just charge it once every 18 months or so. Suddenly it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 3-4 days.Got this sniffer, and chased it down to an AC Condensor leak. Not surprising at 210K miles, and that did the trick. One part to replace, and the right part. No throwing parts at it hoping.Easy to use, and has been reliable for me so far.

Bought two of them and one is not working need to return it and get another one have not heard from anybody

I was trying to find the freon leak on the AC system on a 2002 Dodge Dakota. I added freon and the yellow dye to aid in finding the leak. I could not find any visible leaks using the light or a soap bubble test. So I figured the leak must be in the evaporator core. To replace the evaporator core in this truck requires removing the entire dash. So I wanted to confirm for certain if the leak was indeed in the Evaporator core. I purchased a rather expensive leak detector and it could not confirm a leak in the Evaporator Core. I returned this leak detector for a refund. Later I found this Elitech WJL-6000S on Amazon. I was skeptical based on its low price but there were enough positive reviews that persuaded me to give it a try. I am glad I did. This Elitech WJL-6000S confirmed the leak in the Evaporator Core. Based on my experience, I highly recommend this product. FYI, the audible beeper is not loud enough for people with high frequency hearing loss like myself, however the alarm lights are easy to see.

I purchased the leak detector to find a leak in my aunt's car AC system. When I received the leak detector, I read the instructions, installed the batteries, and decided to test it with a bottle of R-410A refrigerant. I initiated the unit outside in fresh air and allowed it to calibrate. With the detection sensor positioned less than an inch away from the nozzle of the refrigerant bottle, I cracked the valve to let a small amount of gas escape. However, the sensor failed to detect any refrigerant despite multiple attempts and adjustments to different settings.
