Poco dopo Jeff riesce a far ripartire la macchina, raggiunge il luogo indicato da Red, chiede della moglie ma nessuno l'ha mai vista. Ansioso e nervoso, Jeff ad un certo punto ha il sospetto che tutti gli stiano mentendo. Si rimette allora per strada, incontra di nuovo Red, che nega di conoscerlo.
