Mars X - A Serious Toy.
I have been in the advertisement and film business for over 25 years. The past 10 years has seen an emergence of great tools we can utilize to make our art better at an affordable price. I have been using Mars 300 for my film projects but recently needed something similar that would be as effective for these films as well as for the making of its documentaries. I decided to acquire Mars X and to my delight discovered it to be both phenomenally useful and totally professional.Because Mars X is easy to connect on a cell phone or tablet, I can have my eyes on my actors while at the same time being able to see, and check in with, the work from my documentary director. In this way, Mars X works almost like an additional photographic resource during the filming of our projects, and itâs all in the palm of our hands. Not only do I recommend Mars X to beginners in the film industry, but also to veterans who are dealing with budget constraints.Alex LageRingo Films

Great build.
Great build, sturdy and compact, small 1sec lag to the app receiving image and might be an issue for some.

Perfect Wireless Transmitter for My Kit
I have been looking for something small to transmit video wirelessly in my kit. Doing shoots during the pandemic has been a whole new world. The Mars X lets me transmit to my clients so they can view footage on an iPad, and we can all social distance and keep the set safe. It's a good quality unit. I've owned a few wireless transmitters before, and this one beats them on price and features. If you're in the market for a wireless video transmitter, the Mars X is hard to beat.

Worthless for Streaming of Any Quality
At 60FPS & 1080p, connected to an XBOX S, and using the IPad Pro 12â for the monitor, the sound has a random delay between .5 and 1.5 seconds. And becomes unresponsive (the image freezes after about then minutes if streaming). Even when showing on the screen it displays a blurry image and randomly gets scan lines. This device uses its own internal internet connection when connected to an IPad. So no other devices can interfere with it. Meaning that when Iâm 4 feet from the device it should work flawlessly. It does not. This is literally useless to me.

My New Go-To for Wireless Monitoring on DSLR
With .07 Seconds of Latency the Mars X is faster than the other options I have tried. Iâm able to output to 3 of my iOS or android devices simultaneously up to 300 feet. Though Iâm using much less around 20 feet. If youâre looking for something smaller to put on your DSLR or mirrorless camera, this is a great companion to give you a wireless feed. Weâve been using it to social distance on set so the producer can see whatâs on camera. Really useful tool to have in the kit, plus impresses clients that they can use their own phone and watch (after downloading the app). Glad we got it.

No 4k, , no way on GH5 Corrected
I assumed that because my GH5 can downsample a 4k signal to 1080p this would work. Nope. I rarely work in 1080p. I prefer to downsample in post, so I'm not thrilled.Actually the problem was my new iPad Pro. I updated the software to the latest beta. Now the Mars X works.

Overall excellent value for the price
Works great when you want just a simple monitoring solution for a client on an iPad or iPhone. It is kind of picky about what USB C cables will charge it though, so have a few on-hand.
