Animal Adventures: Starter Set - Beginners Roleplaying Tabletop Game 5E Compatible

I've played other Animal Adventures stories from kickstarter, so I know I like the concept. This particular product left a few things to be desired. One, everything inside the box is small. The GM screen is tiny (3 A5 panels, A5 being about half the size of a standard sheet of paper), and the rule book and character sheets are also A5. The included maps are not separated, so I had to manually fold it in half to have just one map visible at a time (and the paper was high quality/thick enough that it did not fold easily, maybe I should have cut it but that felt wrong). There are typos, once it says "fug" instead of "fog", and on Kai's character sheet it lists AC as 11 and HP as 12, but on the GM screen it lists Kai's AC as 16 and HP as 14. The rules mention downloading more advanced character sheets from steamforged.com. I checked, and the dog characters included in this game are not available as additional downloads, although it look like the cat characters are available in the Cats and Catacombs rules download. Some bad dice rolls made combat very challenging even for experienced players. Some suggestions in the rules for adjusting the difficulty (either for number of players, or depending how the battles were going) would have been good for beginners, which the rules otherwise seem geared towards. Overall I had fun playing it, but it was not as polished as I would have hoped, and I think the mistakes make this less valuable in the beginners market.

At least one player will have to have some experience as a d&d DM for the storytelling and player managing aspect, but it's a really well made game, very fun, the miniatures dont come painted, so that's a fun additional activity. Also love that you can get expansions with additional animal/classes.Not real great for replayability, but that depends on creativity too.
