59 Illustrated National Parks - Hardcover: 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service

Still like book.... that said this gives you a nice overview. Using this to get an idea of what parks in what order I want to visit. Saw this at a national park store but had to keep my traveling light.

The book is very unique in its illustration of the parks in the style of old time posters such as WPA. Very nice narrative history and facts of the parks. Good quality construction throughout the book.I took off one star because of a fact that was not mentioned anywhere in the book description on Amazon or by any reviewer; the hardcover edition which I purchased does not come with a dust cover. After contacting the publisher I was told that was their intention as they felt the book did not need a dust cover. I respectfully disagree. I thought it was proper to let other prospective buyers know of this issue. It is still a very nice book as my title states.

I wanted to get this review up quickly since there isn't any.this book is beautifully illustrated and the info is nice. lots and lots to look at and read.it's a great "coffee table book".this book would get 5 stars, but the seller for some reason put a sticker on the back of the book that I couldn't completely peel off. what on earth!? this is a beautiful hard cover book meant to be like a conversation piece. I've included a pic of the back of the book that shows all the parks it features, as well as the remains of the stupid sticker.the book itself is 5 stars. the sticker from the seller gets -1 star.

I purchased this for my son in law for Christmas. He and his wife have visited many of the N national Parks, especially out wet, where most of them are, and despite taking beautiful photos of their own, he requested this as a keepsake coffee table type book. Beside photographs, they are prints of nostalgic signs, interesting facts plus much much more. A great read and a must if you HAVE NOT been to any of the parks, for this book is comprehensive, colorful and will make you feel like you have gone, and/or really want to put many of these destinations on your "bucket list".

Our daughter and her family love to visit the National Parks and she saw this book in one of their gift shops and put it on her Christmas list. She is so thrilled and loves the retro pictures. As tired as she was when they returned home from their trip to visit us for Christmas, she had to read it as soon as she got home.

It's ok. It's a good book if you want to see some neat artwork about each park. What it is severely lacking in, is pictures. Each park has 1 - 3 pictures in it. A couple have a bit more. 1 - 3 pictures is not nearly enough to grasp the beauty of these parks or even to get an idea of what these parks contain. They also don't give much detail on the parks, such as their size. They give a brief history, some artwork and a couple photos. The book feels like it was rushed together to me. I probably wouldn't pay more than $15 for it. I'll keep it for the artwork, but i do wish that i would have explored other options before i bought it. I included a photo of one of the parks. This page is the average amount of information you get on each park.

I love this book! I wasn’t looking for in-depth, descriptive details of each park but more a general description. I LOVE the photos. Overall, this book is gorgeous and a great memento of parks already visited, and I am making a list of more parks to visit. Thank you.

Das Buch gab's auch in manchen National Parks in den Gift Shops. Wir waren nur zu faul das Buch den ganzen Urlaub mit rum zu schleppen. Das Buch fasst alle US National Parks zusammen - ich persönlich liebe die extrem sytlischen Zeichnungen zu den einzelnen Parks. Tolle Buch

Sehr schönes Buch tolle Bilder und Fotos , entsprechend meiner Vorstellung, schön auch,dass die Parks kurz beschrieben werden mit Datum wann die beste Zeit für einen Besuch ist
