Great performance, quality, and looks. If you like old Toyotas... go for it!

This is the cutest little Toyota for fans of the brand and its classic SUVs (Land Cruiser, 4Runner). But more than that, it is a little beast on the trail. Good modulation, excellent crawling ability, decent speed.Motor: Decent torque and power from an 050, comparable to a Barrage 050Servo: Pretty damn good for stock, and a good turn radius as wellTires and Wheels: Really nice soft tires, with foam, and beadlock wheelsFrame: Aluminum frame, thoughtful buildThis keeps up with my son's lightly modded Axial SCX24 on all but the steepest of climbs. It is a bit more tippy due to the higher center of gravity but the beautiful hardbody makes it worth it. The thing puts a smile on my face every time.A few screws worked themselves loose on mine; if it's in your abilities, apply some medium thread locker to places where metal screws are affixed to metal parts. Also -- customer support was excellent for us when we ran into some trouble.

It’s awesome!

First off the packaging is the best I’ve ever seen in RC . It gives you a feeling that you purchase something of high-quality. Once you open it you are reassured of the quality. I own a 94 Land Cruiser 80 series and the detail is spot on. This is the V2 and I’d have to say the motor is a lot quieter the battery is a little bit smaller than the V1 you only get a 380m battery but I’m getting about 30.35 minutes of run time. The only thing I wish it had was oil field shocks that’s my only great. Otherwise it’s a 9 out of 10

It doesn’t work after the first run

Looks great and works the first time but, after a 30 min run it’s done forever. I bought new batteries to see if that was the problem and it wasn’t.The servo and lights are the only thing that works now and the forward and reverse are out for the count. Like many others warned me on here…… Don’t waste your time.

Works, rough around edges

5/2/21 update:After putting this R/C through quite a few laps on state campgrounds, beaches, woods, I have to increase overall rating.Although the controls are still sloppy, this is a VERY difficult R/C to get stuck. It has absurd tenacity to grip, and will get out of just about any situation that the tires are still underneath. As far as "realistic"/"scale" crawlers go, it also has a very low center of gravity that keeps it from flipping easily. It's absolutely not a precision R/C, but it's surprisingly fun to explore and push. The motor is also much more torquey than I originally gave it credit for- the binding and roughness when turning has more to do with the sheer amount of grip this R/C has, not an anemic drivetrain. Two thumbs up.original review:RC runs fine, but surprisingly low quality for it's price range. If you give the RocHobby enough throttle to crawl on flat straightaways, it will binds up on slight turns. It bucks and hops from the drivetrain binding. Nothing is smooth. Motor seems very under-powered (significant throttle input is necessary to inch it forward)I really wanted to like the RocHobby- waterproof, moderately realistic molding, lighting, factory lithium batteries, glowing reviews...it has alot going for it on paper. Taking it out however, it's just not very fun.As far as tiny, "realistic" pebble crawlers go, we also have a Kyosho Mini-Z 4Runner which has MUCH more refined steering and precision throttle inputs, allowing us to push it to the limits with technical crawling. The RocHobby should be able to do more given it's larger size...but the RocHobby's sloppy controls make it a chore to play with, and it's constant lugging even on straightaways is downright annoying. If you are solely interested in collecting Toyota bodied RC's for display, I would give this two thumbs up.If you are interested in running trails or rock crawling, this particular model has the feel and performance of a very inexpensive child's toy.

80 Series RC truck looks awesome

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this truck as it is a near perfect match to my 95. But I was amazed at the function. Quality and realistic details both inside and out.Tons of fun.
