Does what it’s supposed to: super functional and easy to use! Forget ice packs. Great quality.
Super pleased. I got this for my boyfriend after he had been complaining about recent pain in his knee, which comes and goes with the weather. (Football player back in high school, old surgery from injury, steel rod in knee, etc). Result: He loved it! Doesn’t leak and get super wet like an ice pack, can roll over contours of body, stays cold for long periods of time, East to travel with, and most importantly... provided the relief he needed! After using it routinely, he said he was feeling much less pain. Sleek design is just bonus points. Thoughtful gift for a loved one, and for yourself.

So simple, yet absolutely worth every cent.
This will change your life. As a worn out Gen X kid, my knees hurt and my elbows hurt. It frankly all hurts. I refused to pay for some rollerball thing when my trusty ice packs, frozen paper cups, whiskey ice cubes and frozen peas were working just fine. In short, don’t be an idiot like me and buy this right now. You can ice for 10 on, 10 off cycles without getting everything soaking wet. Or going back and forth to the freezer. Stays cold forever, and this point massage thing worked miracles for my Medial Epicondylitis. And I don’t believe in miracles. Like I can sleep through the night again. Best thing I’ve bought myself that doesn’t contain the words “Single Malt”. Easy to use, tidy, stays cold, chills up quickly and is easy to hold.True story-Smacked my right knee with a framing hammer. Grabbed this, iced up on the spot. Was easy to maneuver around the, ahem, burger part of the injury. Cut my healing time in half. There’s no rocket science here. Metal ball in a plastic holder. And worth every penny.

Amazing! Cold for Hours! You will love it
I was very skeptical about this roller before ordering it. I get sport massages weekly and have an expensive japanese massage chair that I use often. But in between real massages I realize my arch has some discomfort and my IT band continued to get inflamed. My therapist recommended a trigger release ball or something to use in between our sessions. When I found this product I was worried the reviews looked too good to be true, but I can say without a doubt while accounting the price this roller - THIS IS one my favorite sport therapy items EVER!First up the good:The casing screws together to holds the ball in a manner that it can move in all directions flawlessly. The sphere once frozen overnight will hold temperature for a long time (over an hour). I used it for 30 minutes straight and it was still frosting over. I couldn't see anyone needing it longer than an hour, but I didn't test it beyond that point. The cold therapy paired with a solid object allows you to work out any bunched up muscle issues and decrease inflammation quickly. The only item requiring improvement:The base is a little small, it's perfect for holding and rolling over problem areas but its not stable enough to maintain its position on the ground. While using in it's ground configuration the base constantly rolls over itself. To the manufacture - if they provided two bases, one for the ground, one for hand holding, this would be perfect and worthy of 5 stars.Great product overall, and well worth the price! Start your healing now.

A Must Buy! Relief, better than an ice pack!
I have been going to PT for my foot, which hurts a lot. My PT spends 30 minutes releasing tightness and alleviating pain. Then 30+minutes of exercises. Afterwards, this icy ball is rolled around on the areas she released and areas I really worked during the exercises. It provides such an amazing relief! So much so, I purchased my own, hence this review. Lol. It works far better (and longer than ice packs (which I quit using on my foot). I highly recommend! It is simple. Open the box. Put the ball inside the container. Pop it in the freezer. When ready, pull it out and roll it on the area needed. It stays cold a long time, then refreeze. Happy healing!

It's great for join relief in the hips and lower back, and for muscles after a workout

Easy to use, can hold onto it w/o freezing your hand off, ball stays cold, works great.
Dear God, how can something so simple be so effective? The ball stays cold and rolls easily. I freeze it out of the container because it's easier to clean and i don't want to hold onto something freezing. $40 seems a bit steep, but i paid $20 each for ice packs that get warm in half the time and don't work as well, so it seems fair. Container has a great grippy surface, and this seemingly simple contraption is helping reduce the swelling of a torn tendon better than everything else I've tried.

Stays Cold!
This is a great product to give you that ice massage feeling without the mess. Its a great design because it stays cold and you can throw this into your gym bag and have ice readily available after a workout as it easily stays cold for a couple of hours out of the freezer. Its also great when you want to clean it between users as its easy to pop out the metal ball. It does have a little bit of weight as I believe this is the chemical inside the ball to keep it cold but this is a good thing as it adds a little bit of compression or pressure when you're using it.

Modifications needed
First the good.It gets Really cold! I use it for the bottom of my foot, and a thin cotton sock makes it much more comfortable.I keep it in the freezer, taking it out when I go to bed. It is still quite cold when I remember to return it to the freezer the next afternoon. "Sweating" is much less than I expected. Now the bad.If you want it to remain stable when rolling your foot over the ball, forget It! It turns sideways, falls over. Basicly usless on the ground. After several attempts to use it, almost gave up. Tried to stabilize in a small box without success. It slid all over the place. Finally decided to make a rice pack like you froze or heat before placing on sore muscles. Made an "X" of stitching in the center to create a depression for the ball with its base to rest. Perfect!I keep the ball and pack together in the freezer. That way I can rest my other foot against the pack while using the ball.Wish the manufacturer would make an adjustment in the base for stationary use.
