I just got it two days ago. It is a bargain for the price! The colors are deep and rich, and the rug was sealed in a very thick plastic wrapper. It has packets in it to keep it dry, and I was pleased how thick this runner happens to be. The "shipping smell" dissipated within hours; but I used a little fabric spray to help it along. I have a 22' X 27" runner for the living room; running from the back entrance to the tiled-hallway leading to the kitchen. It's over carpet, and I didn't have to place anything under it to hold it in-place. The weight, density, and thickness of the runner holds itself smooth and flat. It did have ripples from being rolled-up, which smoothed-out the same day I put it down. It feels wonderful to walk-on with bare feet! I didn't experience the horror stories about any nasty smell, dampness, knots in the rug, or the colors running. It looks better than as advertised; because you have to see the colors in real-life to appreciate them. I choose a darker runner; so dirt doesn't show, and I will scotch guard it to resist stains from spills. I love it, and I know firsthand the quality of expensive handwoven oriental rugs; but I wouldn't spend thousands on a runner! It was a great bargain, and I am pleased. I always set my expectations according to what a product is made of, what I plan to use it for, and place lesser dependence on high or low customer reviews. If I didn't like it, I'd send it back! Different people have different experiences or expectations. My expectations have been met and surpassed. I recommend this product; but you will have to care for it, if you have children and pets like you would any other rug or runner. Keep it vacuumed and pickup spills immediately. Don't set your vacuum on a setting "too low", it might cause damage to any wool rug! Keep a spray carpet-cleaner handy for accidents. I have a heavy duty carpet cleaner with attachments; so I'm not worried. The runner doesn't move when I walk on it; even though it is on top of low-cut knap carpeting. Don't expect the same on a hardwood floor or high-knap carpet.

The media could not be loaded.  It’s very pretty, soft for wool and the colors are very rich. The smell so many people complain about smells like burlap or dry hay… and it is strong at first but it is slowly going away. The smell is from the materials used and is completely normal when buying a wool product. It isn’t that bad and is almost gone after 7 days.

Arrived yesterday - two days early (go Amazon!). We bought the 7'6" x 9'6" size.This is a very nice area rug for our purposes. We wanted a multicolored rug that was a darker shade, overall, so we didn't have to shoo the dogs away from it.The colors are warm but slighly more vibrant than the photos. The pattern is distinct and well executed. I was worried that it would look like a piece cut from a large roll of carpet, but it does not: the design is centered and symmetrical to the rug.The tufting is quite dense. The jute backing seems to be of high quality. This is a substantial (and HEAVY) rug. It is already laying flat. There are no odors that we can detect. It is quite pleasing.We haven't vacuumed it yet and I wouldn't call the feel "soft" or "silky" to the touch at this point in time but it feels dense when you walk on it.Let's not try blowing sunshine up anyone's skirt: it doesn't look like a "heritage" rug that would cost several thousands of dollars, but it really does look like it cost significantly more than what we paid. It is very nice to look at, enhances the room, and appears to be manufactured more than well enough to hold up to years of everyday use.It was slightly damaged in shipping and there's a very small (1/4") tear in the jute backing. It looks as if the rug hit a box-like corner in transit (like maybe the corner of the wheel-well in the UPS van?). It didn't penetrate the rug, just damaged the jute backing, and that's an easy DIY mend. I doubt it could affect the longevity of the rug, but I'm kind of anal about these things...We are very pleased with this purchase and the rug is truly better than we expected. We'll be buying additional area rugs and will definitely be looking at Safavieh again. And after getting this lug of a rug to us two days early, will absolutely be ordering them from Amazon.Happily recommend this.UPDATE: First vaccuuming with upright canister filled the tank. This seems to be normal for all wool rugs and carpeting (look at your sweaters!). Second vaccuuming half-filled the cannister. Third vacuuming looked pretty normal compared to the wool carpeting in the bedrooms. Am pleased that the shedding has dropped off so rapidly.

I bought this rug and had it in my living room from 11/2015 to 1/2022. So 6+ years but it's ready to be replaced. It held up pretty well to traffic, including kids and dogs in a heavily trafficked living room.The pros are: Inexpensive for a 9x12 wool rug. It was well made. It was beautiful, for the first three or so years.The cons are: Just one - It sheds like crazy when you vacuum it. It'll fill up you vacuum canister every time with wool shedding. After a three or four years it was noticeable, and after 5 there was not much left and it looked really threadbare in places. So as long as you don't mind replacing it every 3-5 years, depending on how much you care about the shedding, then it's a good deal. I think it's worth it and am going to buy another one.

Awesome Rug 😎I love it !!!

I have several of these rugs and really like them. The colors and patterns are gorgeous and they clean easily. They tend to shed for a couple of weeks at first but that stops and they're super sturdy and thick. If you're looking for a soft texture, this is not the rug for you. But in a high traffic area they're perfect.

No doubt, this is a beautiful rug, but it sheds so bad, there's clumps of rug laying all over the place.. Plus when I vacuum, it completely fills up the vacuum canister.UPDATE.It's become obvious that the rug is never going to stop shedding until it's a bare piece of jute, with no wool fibers.. Terrible rug, has made a mess of my living room. Please don't waste your money~!

It is soft and comfortable to walk on. It is easy to remove dog hair from it. Good value.

This rug is in a hallway and the colors are lovely and the thickness perfect, easy to match with surroundings

Originally bought in Nov 2020. I am very happy with the quality. Read the negative reviews before purchasing a second one. Even after a year, I did not have the shedding nor smell issues that were mentioned in negative reviews. The colours are vibrant. I hope my second one is as good as the first.The 2nd one arrived January 22 2022. So far very happy with both.

The colors are vibrant and it is a nice thickness, soft on the feet.
