How durable is the metal? Can it be easily bent?

This depends on how hard you on your electronics. I've accidentally dropped a decent size 3" binder that was completely full. There was no dent or damage whatsoever. I hope this helps.

Will this work with mac os 11 laptop? if yes, does it need an adaptor to work?
