Planted these sunflower seeds and covers them with a row fabric to stop animal from eating . All germinated within days !

Whay I needed to perk up my garden.

Seeds germinate fast. Over 90% germination rate. They truly are dwarf. Maybe 2 feet tall. But the flowers are tiny! They just look like small yellow flowers. Not like real sunflowers. It’s cute, but blossoms are too tiny. I’m a bit disappointed

So I planted these seeds two ways. I planted some in a large planter and the rest scattered around in my backyard. I found that the seeds I planted directly to the ground grew larger and more beautiful than the seeds in the planter. Also, the location where they were planted had partial shade and they seemed to like this more then the ones that were in direct sunlight all day. The texas sun can easily melt plants so a little shade can help them rest. It was also an easier process because I didnt really have to worry about feeding them even though I did every now and then, but the ones in the planter I had a tougher time trying to keep them happy. They had sun, food, water but they were not satisfied, I'm guessing because their were too many of them in and around the same area probably. One thing I had to worry about for the flowers in the backyard were the grasshoppers, they really love eating sunflowers...only sad thing I had to watch as my flowers grew big and tall, but I would definitely recommend buying these seeds for sure, it will not be a waste just remember not to plant too many of them in the same pot or location...they prefer their own personal space.. and they need ALOT of food.

Have ordered these three times to plant around my property. Planted two packages 11 days ago and from what I can tell most all have sprouted nicely and look very healthy. They are planted where they get sun about 7 hrs a day and shade the rest. I have been keeping the soil moist not wet and the little plants seem to be doing well. Also, planted a few in pots. The ones in the ground are doing much better and do not appear to be as "leggy" as the ones in the pots, which get more sun time than the ones in the ground. Will update as growth progresses. Hopefully will have a beautiful garden of sunflowers in a few months. Update: The plants are doing well and starting to bloom. Am purchasing a couple more packages to have these beautiful flowers all summer and into the fall.
