GREAT substitute for pricy concrete stain in the can!
A few years ago I bought 3 gallons of QuikCrete concrete stain in brown, terra cotta & wheat to dress up the ugly concrete around my pool. Worked nice & holds up to power washing but still needs a touch up every couple of years. And this year needed it badly but the stain was all used up- but I did NOT want to pay $50/gallon for more stain. So I took a chance and bought a couple of bottles of this powdered concrete stain- in yellow & terra cotta- even though I KNEW it was meant to be mixed into concrete -NOT mixed with water & painted on TOP of the concrete. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t work. And I was WRONG. The concrete section in the pic that went from no color to yellow is the powdered stain and everything around it was QuickCrete. And so far it is working way beyond my expectations. Of course it’s too early to tell but I can tell you this- do NOT get it on your skin, or on any surface that you can’t use nail polish remover on to get it off. It does NOT come off in the shower from normal scrubbing. FYI- the yellow in the pic was too bright so I toned it down with a little bit of heavily diluted terra cotta & iI’m very happy with it- I was going for the look of aged stone. Will update review next year to report on how it holds up- but so far I’m thrilled. I paid $9 a bottle instead of $50 gallon and I’m pretty sure the bottle will cover as much as the gallon- the pigment is very concentrated & it’s beautiful.

Nice and even
I like this better than direct colors black. It’s just a more overall even black. And when I say black it’s not extreme back it’s a very dark grey

It's ok, I screwed up.
I wasn't paying attention to the details. I wanted wood stain, that is water soluble. I bhought this by mistake. Since I had it I figured I'd give it a try. It worked but didn't seem as rich as the stain powder for wood is.

Perfect concrete mix for perfect color.
I had purchased a green stain but it didn't come out looking the way I wanted it to. I used this concrete mix on my bathroom floor to get the perfect color green. I added just enough to match my decor. It was very easy to mix and the value for your money is great!

Didnt really work for me.
This is for the orange pigment only. Hard not doing a good review. Purchased for use with a cement all project. Packaging was spot on. Recd what was ordered, sealed and in new condition. This is a small cement project not a sidewalk etc. think craft size. I used 8 cups of cement and literally in the end used 4oz of the pigment with basically no result. I needed to pour because of work time. I ended up with a slight pigment of a very very very pale saltillo tile at best. I wasnt really looking for pumpkin orange, but a orange hue would have been great , as have used other pigment brands and typically a small amount goes along way. Didnt even get spots of an orange so I know it was properly incorporated before adding water, then more pigment and so on. It barley tinted at the area when added to wet cement and basically disappeared when stiring in. Sorry was a fail for me. Will try another brand.

Indoor only
Adds great color, but fades quickly in the sun. You need quite a bit to get a dark tint.

Great quality dye
This was the best priced dye for the product. They had lots of color options and adding the dye to the concrete was easy enough. They list the quantities on the box and it was easy to use the same amount of dye for consistency. One bottle of dye was added to 4 bags of concrete for a consistent tink of a greenish blue and used it for my pool. It functioned and covered what i needed it too. They offer a variety of colors.

Even better in person
Thought, by some of the reviews re colour, that I would have to mix this with a little magenta to get the red I wanted. Nope. Perfect just as is. Mine is not "brick red." It's a kind of slightly pinky true red---like if it was paint instead of iron oxide. Very pleased. I have liked all the pigments I have bought from Goodtake. Plan on buying blue next.I am not using for concrete. I purchased for temporary skin colouring. When I applied some to my hand with a cotton swab, the colour did not change for having my real skin colour underneath. Perfect for disguise purposes. :-)
