I'm apparently one of the few people left in America who types on a typewriter. Mine is an IBM Wheelwriter, a big beast of a machine measuring about 21 inches wide by 17 inches deep and weighing about 25 pounds. The computer stands I looked at in office supply stores seemed to be much too flimsy to support my heavy typewriter without vibrating or falling over. I browsed around on Amazon and came across this children's desk. It's ideal for my purposes. The height is adjustable, so I was able to set it for 27 inches high. It's very sturdy, so it doesn't jiggle one iota while I'm typing. It was easy to assemble by this 68-year-old woman. I set it upside-down on a chair so I didn't have to crawl around on the floor, which my knees don't tolerate anymore. It was very well packed, so mine arrived with no dings, scrapes, chips, or any other flaws. The book box is plenty big enough to hold my boxes of stationery side by side, so I can eliminate the rolling cart with drawers I was storing my paper in. I love when a product not only meets all my goals but exceeds my expectations.

Purchased 2 for $44 a piece. 3 days later they are $74 a piece. Other sellers are nearly double that. Anyway, for the price, these are amazing. Easy to put together, sturdy and the same standard size as the ones the kiddos use in the classroom. I prefer these non lift up lids because you can access books etc from the cubby underneath without dropping everything sitting on top. The cubby is nearly the same size as the top platform. I had to tighten a few factory screws but no big deal. If you have elementary level kiddos that need to do homework this is perfect. They can also eat on it. Any type of painting or art we usually purchase puppy pad type pads from amazon to lay across the top for easy clean up. The top is super easy to clean. Paint seems thickly applied on sides and bottom and decently scratch proof. The leg height is adjustable. Works for us. 100% solid buy

If you are a parent with a prek or elementary school kid, then do not look further than this desk.UTILITY : This is a similar desk used by the charter elementary school as well. Yes. This desk is not elegant enough to be put in your living room, but the ample shelf space where you can put all of your books out of sight while leaving the smooth top for your homework. The sidebars are for extra stability that is not present in my other two desks. If the kids need more space, you can just buy one more of these desks giving that extra space and storage neccessary. The pencils wil not roll out of the storage shelfs because of the raised grooves .ASSEMBLY: One person can assemble but it is better to get some help while installing the side bars for even your child to hold it. Not a big deal. the legs can be adjusted to have a perfect fit.SUMMARY : An absolute winner and value for money, that will take your kid through many years.

I just bought them, and put them together. They are sturdy, easy to put together and perfect for my kids.

My wife and I home school our daughter who is currently in first grade and needed a desk that wasn't distracting, bulking and poor quality. While searching we came across the ECR4Kids Open-Front Student Desk and was immediately interested. However, I was concerned it would be wobbly or not sturdy enough/big enough for day to day schooling. I was very happy as soon as I opened the box to see a solid product. It was very simple to put together and I did it in about 5 minutes tops. Keep in mind I'm not a stranger with your basic tools but I am in no way a handyman. In other words, if I can do it anyone can. Once it was put together it was solid still and the adjustable hight was a big plus as she's only just 6 years old and feels much more comfortable sitting out a lower level that fits her needs. The book box is spacious (obviously if you are intending to store everything in it you are unrealistic) it fits all her day to day necessities such as her supply box, notebooks, rule, charts and still has room to spare. Also, live in an apartment in a city where space is a luxury and we have to use it wisely and this allows for that as well. It is a product that if treated well will last the rest of her school years. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple work desk for their child.

I bought 4 of these just over 30 days ago. The desk looks nice, seemed nice, but one just got a chunk out of the top of it with very little cause. Unfortunately, this did not happen until 4 days past the return limit and I'm unable to find a way to easily contact the seller. We use these in our homeschool room so it will be a frequent reminder every day that these are not the same durability as the more industrial seeming desks used in traditional schools, as indicated in the description.

We needed a bigger desk for a growing homeschooler and most the stuff out there is WAY expensive and has lots of complaints. This had the fewest of all complaints and was much more reasonably priced so we got it. What can I say, it's a sturdy desk with a large opening and should last as long as we need it to. It wasn't hard to put together, well, not terribly hard, they use the same bolts for the cross member that also adjust the legs so that takes lining everything up just right but it really is not difficult. That's the only reason I docked it one star is because when you do want to adjust the height you have to flip it on it's side, take of cross member, pull both legs out and reattach crossbar. A little more work than our other desk but how often do you really adjust it anyway.

I started assembling this desk and noticed that one of the double hex post (1A) didn’t have any threads on the inside. Obviously I can’t screw in without threads. I called ECR customer service and they said I have to return the desk. They don’t have ONE hex post to send to me. They told me to call Amazon to return the product.Update: I called Amazon and they sent me another desk. I took out only the screw to install on the first desk and returned the new desk. The desk itself is great and my son loves it. Plus the legs are adjustable so we can move it higher has he gets holder. 4 out of 5 stars.
