TOPSCOPE FP8424M - Fuel Pump Assembly E8424M fits 98-10 Volkswagen Beetle, 99-06 Golf, 99-05 Jetta (New Body Style; for Plastic Fuel Tank; with 4.8" Outer Diameter Flange)

First off, the price is amazing. The part came out of the box looking great from the overly protective packaging. Installed in my wife’s 2001 Jetta 1.8t. The old original pump was getting tired and was starting to get the initial start and die, hard start symptom. Had already replaced the fuel filter. No schrader valve to check pressure on the car. Could hear a difference in noise on the old pump.This part is a complete unit including the sending unit. The plug, the fuel connections and the fit were all perfect. Drop in replacement. Upon replacement, the car performed as new and even gained some power it had lost over time. The car starts and runs great now after installing this pump. Perfect fit!!! Easy install!!! Everything works as it should.Just installed so no idea in longevity of the product.. however, the initial review is that I am very pleased and highly recommend.

2001 VW Beetle AVH engine. Ohms on the fuel level gauge were not exactly the same as my OEM VDO pump, so I had some concern the fuel level on the dash would be inaccurate, but it appears that after running for a bit, the car learned the new parameters.Initially, right after installation of the new fuel pump, the fuel gauge on the dash read that the car was almost fuel when in reality, it was very close to empty. I was not happy, but as another viewer stated, it found itself and is correct now.Pump is no noisier than the OEM as far as I can tell.Make sure to replace your Fuel filter as well! No seriously....you must. It's cheap and not hard. If you don't, you may shorten the span of the pump. As a matter of fact, Per my mechanic friend, clogged filters can cause a fuel pump to die because it has to work harder.Be extra careful with the electrical connector on top of the pump. With a 16 year old car, the brittle VW plastic is begging to break. I was super super super cautious and still managed to break the outer plastic on mine. It just wouldn't let go! But luckily, the tab that holds it on is on the inside of the plastic and wasn't affected.There are videos on Youtube for the R&R of the pump.

good fuel pump and sending unit. Fuel level sensor doesn't work used the old one and the gasket that comes with it seems to thin , I had to use the old one. clean price!

Nothing to dislike. Perfect fit, Fair price. Only time will tell about overall quality but I'm very satisfiedInstallation was very easy with the correct ring removal tool, only took about 30 minutes. Best of all, it was exactly what I needed for that troublesome check engine light code.

The pump came super quickly overnight.The car died at 5pm on the highway, ordered right away, was delivered at 5:30am the next day, put it in at 8am, sold the car at 12pm. Car was a 00 Beetle GLS, perfect direct fit, swapped the pump in less than 20 minutes and drove great, the pump is very strong! Thank you!10/10

My fuel pump went out on my 2001 Jetta Wednesday night, so safe to say I couldn’t drive my car! I looked up some videos on replacing after finding out it would cost about $750 to fix at a mechanics. It looked fairly easy (I’m a girl and the most extensive work I’ve done is replace my battery and oil changes) and I bought this fuel pump to replace. Installation was soooo easy (definitely use a pick if you have one to disconnect some things inside it makes it so much easier) and within a half an hour my car started back up and regained all of the pep it lost over the years! Not only did I save hundreds of dollars but it’s always nice to learn more on fixing your own car. Bottom line- buy this fuel pump it works like a charm!

DOES NOT FIT IN A VW BEETLE! I have a 2005 1.8 GTI VW beetle. It was 1/4" too small. Has to disassemble, and add on old top. Same part, but very difficult to disassemble and rebuild to fit. DO NOT buy for a beetle like mine. Mileage is up a little, but not much. If I didnt have to change it I wouldn't have.
