The directions appear to be a Google translate which I didn't care for but they are nevertheless pretty much understandable. The wording is roundabout compared to normal English. That being the only real complaint, the pictures below show the side cutter attachment on my Singer Professional 9500, a picture of fabric in it's proper place, and the finished cut on a piece of decorator cotton(single layer). The straight stitch in red shows how close the cutter trims the edge of the fabric. The fabric is cut before the stitch takes place. I do advise, as do the directions, that you guide the fabric to prevent a crooked cut.Also, this is a sample piece and I didn't correct tension just as a lazy timesaver. If you want some sort of over cast stitch it has to be done first because this only has a zigzag opening without the overcast bar. I think this would be excellent to use as a trimmer after stitching is done. Just pull your thread off your top bobbin/spool and feed it in. The fabric is fed in by giving yourself a half inch cut along you seam where your going to trim and then feed your fabric through. I will try and update if I notice something doesn't appear to work well after I've used it on a project. Merry ChristmasP.S. If you want an overcast stitch you MUST'VE CAREFUL ABOUT THE STITCH WIDTH ON THE ZIGZAG. I've found that the stitch won't work on a maximum 5 width on my Singer Professional 9500. It works well on 3 or 4. So, test your width by slowly lowering the needle to make sure it doesn't hit the overcast bar or the flat support for the cutting blade. Straight number 1 zigzag numbers 4,5 are the ones I used so far. This is a handy little tool if you want to avoid buying a server.

I had ordered an overlocker but because of size, weight and where do I store it, I returned it. A friend recommended this foot for my zigzag sewing machine. It is such a great piece of kit and very easy to attach to the machine. It is perfect for my light sewing but a professional might still want an overlocker machine. I would definitely recommend this item for price and suitability for occasional sewer.
