Beautiful Wood Finish, Solid Sound - Perfect with My LP Player and Remote-Friendly
I’ve been using the Edifier R1280DB Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers nearly every day with my LP player, and honestly, they’ve been such a joy. From the moment they arrived, the wooden finish caught my eye. It's warm, classic, and elegant in any room (I got mine in the living room right by the wooden TV stand). It's refreshing to have speakers that look like furniture, not gadgets, yet sound powerful.Performance-wise, they’ve been fantastic. Paired with vinyl, the sound is rich and well balanced with nice lows, vivid mids, and crisp highs that let the record's character shine through. The included remote is also very convenient.

Great set of speakers
I bought these speakers about a month ago. I wanted to use them for a while before I wrote a review about them. I connected them directly to my TV through the optical Port. I was having a problem connecting them to my TV so I contacted customer service via email. They promptly replied to me and were very helpful. They were even willing to send me another set of speakers when the issue was not resolved right away. Eventually, I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong so it was not necessary for them to send me another set of speakers. When connecting these speakers to a TV make sure you go into the TV settings and change the audio output Dolby digital to PCM. I think the other issue was that I didn't have my TV turned off when I connected the speakers. Now, I have one very minor complaint before I get to the positive things about speakers. These speakers have an optical Port but they are obviously made to connect to a TV. That being said, it would be nice if there was an indication light on the front of the speaker so that the user could tell if the speaker is on when using the remote to turn the speakers on.Now the positive, these speakers sound great. Especially for what you pay for them. Mine replaced a Bose soundbar and these speakers outperform the soundbar in every way. The build quality is excellent. I believe the sides are made of real wood and the front, back, top and bottom are made of particle board. I did some research and have viewed a few videos that show the inner workings of these speakers. The speakers seem to be well put together and thought out. The magnet on the wolfers are very large. The wiring is done very well.I live in a very small apartment so I didn't need anything way over the top like a 5.1 surround sound system. These speakers with their 4 inch woofers won't rattle the rafters but they do deliver a very nice and deep clear sound. I think they would also work very well if they were connected to a computer. I think gamers would really enjoy them. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who is on a tight budget and need some good quality speakers. If you consider yourself to be an audio file these probably aren't the speakers for you. You'll have to spend two or three hundred dollars more to get something you will like.In conclusion, again I would highly recommend these speakers. I have really enjoyed them. They sound much better than my soundbar ever did. I'm glad they come with all the cables you need. I'm also glad that they come with a remote. Again, I had a great experience with their customer service. A big thank you to them for everything they did to try to accommodate my needs.

Very impressive for the price/size
Before you read what I write, you need to know that sound quality matters more to me than most people I know, so I'm picky, but not to the level of an audiophile. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount more to get better quality sound. These speakers are well constructed and sound good for the size and price. Their reproduction of music and dialog is clear. They are loud enough for our space (a medium-sized kitchen). They are easy to use with Bluetooth (we stream from an Echo Dot). They look really good.A few notes to consider:1. These are powered bookshelf speakers and don't have the screw mounts that you will see with some satellite/monitor speakers. We mounted ours with VideoSecu clampijg bookshelf mounts, which worked well.2. They come with all of the cables you might need. Those weren't necessary for us because we're streaming, but it is a nice touch.3. If you're looking to be blown away by bass, you need to look for something else (larger). I found the bass more than adequate, but I know some prefer a resounding bass, and these probably won't satisfy those folks.Less than two months after we purchased these, they started to periodically drop the Bluetooth signal and, on one occasion, had some static. These problems were always resolved by unplugging the speakers and plugging them back in, but we did contact Edifier. They sent us a new set without any hassle (actually they sent them before telling me they would be replacing them). I think you can count on good service should you need it, and these come with a 2 year warranty.

with some tuning
The media could not be loaded. I'm only docking one star because it would be nice to have a volume bar that shows it up n down. but other then that these are a great set of bookshelf speakers now let me tell you you will have to spend time tuning them correctly. an get a good set of speaker stands to have these beautiful speakers at ear level. they will fill a nice size room in say a nice apartment but will not be enough to fill a HUGE space. bluetooth connects easily the bass is clean not muffled or bottoming out if you tune them correctly. there weight is pretty low in general. there a very nice pair of bookshelf speakers for budget.

Great sound for a low price but do not hook to a powered amp/receiver
These sound amazing, but I nearly screwed up. They are POWERED speakers, so do not hook them to an amp or receiver. I have them connected to a WIIM streaming device, and they provide wonderful sound. I bought them for my powered receiver, so now I don't know what I'll do with them when I hook it up (the vintage receiver was out for repair). But at this price, I'll find somewhere to use them! Really great sound for a very low price.

Excellent sound quality for small speakers!
Excellent speakers. The instructions are questionable. For their size they do as good a job as large floor speakers. I use mine in my living room. Bluetooth. After some work with the directions I figured out how to do the simple connection between the two speakers. The little remote works just fine for on/off, and was able to quickly do the bluetooth connection on my iphone. Superb sound quality!
