Loved it!

Playing this game was a lot of fun for our worrying kid. She enjoyed playing with it and felt it really helped her to face some of the issues she's struggling with. This is what she had to say about it:"Playing CBT is a fun and creative way that helped me understand how I feel and behave in certain ways, and what I should think or do to about that. I enjoyed Playing CBT not just because of its helpful content, but also because it's aesthetic presentation and packaging that made me want to play it. I appreciated the clear and well-thought instructions and the nice look and feel of the game pieces. It helped me be able to fully understand what the game is trying to teach me. Also, I enjoyed that Playing CBT is actually a variety of games in one box. The different games address different issues that may suit different kids, each kid with what he or she needs to address. I think Playing CBT is a fun, creative, well-thought out and effective way to teach and help kids like me to understand themselves better and to do something positive about it. I highly recommend it."

What a great find!!!

My coworkers and I enjoyed unboxing the game. It is so well organized and engaging. My colleagues and I immediately started discussing which students we would introduce to the game first. It was clearly made with students in mind. The versatility of the games and the different levels in which to play allow us to use the game with a broad range of ages and abilities. The students seem to enjoy playing the games and have requested to play.Overall, highly recommended. I can see this game being a mainstay in my practice.

Great, flexible therapy tool

Playing CBT has been a huge hit with the kids I work with. There are instructions for many different games you can play, and you can easily make up your own to meet a specific kid's needs. A lot of the situations on the events cards are about things that might happen at school, which works for most kids but requires some adaptation for homeschooled kids. The blank cards and wipe-clean marker make it easy to come up with alternatives for whatever reason. The person who complained about a lack of diversity must have an older version of the game. The one I bought in 2019 has kids with a wide range of skin tones and facial features. I work with a diverse group of kids, and they've all found somebody they think looks at least a little like them.

Really great tool for social workers and counselors

I really love this game for use with my clients. I’m a social worker in private practice setting and I work with people of all different ages. This game has been great to teach some of my little ones emotions and the relationships between emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. I’ve even used it a few times with younger teenagers. The pictures throughout the game boards and cards have a lot of diversity with kids of many different ethnicities and cultures being represented. A lot of the games are adaptable and I’ve even managed to figure out a way to play some of them virtually with some of my occasional virtual kiddos.I do think there are a few issues with the game, which are mostly editing issues. There are some typos and/or errors in a few of the instructions sections, there are several instances where the skin tone of a kid’s head is very different from their skin tone on their arms and neck, and most notably, the picture on the Emotion Board for the emotion “despair” has a picture of a kid smiling and does not match up with that emotion. I’ve attached a few pictures that show the errors. I also have had trouble getting the little playing pieces to stay in their holders, so I usually use playing pieces from different games instead of the ones provided in the game.I’ve had this game for about 6 months now and even using it several times a week with kids of all different ages, it’s held up very well. Aside from the issues I mentioned above, I do think this is a great, high quality game. The price was a little more than I would typically spend on a game like this, but given that the game was created by a small company, and that you get so many games out of it, I definitely think it was a good purchase.

This is a must for CBT practitioners.

This is a must for CBT practitioners. Kids honestly love this and there are many ways to play. You can use it in-person, but also just use the cards for telehealth. I love this when talk gets a little slow.

Interactive Tool to Engage Kids

The media could not be loaded. Telehealth use is limited but the cards are great for practice and engagement, especially with kids to pre-teens. In-person use encourages kids to reflect on real life situations.

Used product not new

This is a very good versatile game with detailed instructions on how to play and talking points for each game. The only reason I rated lower was because the game I received had a ripped box, some of the cards had already been open, and there was animal hair all over the inside of it. I expected to have a new product for the price.

Great way to use the CBT method

I purchased the game for working with children in CBT. You see that the person who prepared the game is an expert in working with children and I also used a psychoeducational explanation for parents and it was excellent. An assessment can be useful in countless ways. Excellent quality and a very high level of understanding.I highly recommend this product.
