They do not attach to each other at all. You can place them on top of each other, or tightly near each other, but they are not designed to stick together. As for the dimensions of the ones cube, it is 1cm x 1cm x 1cm. Other than that, it is a great set to use and explain to the children what the values of numbers are and how to place them on a number grid.
