Air Wick Summer Delights Electric Wax Melter 22 g

I bought one of these after stupidly dropping and breaking my aroma stone, and didn't want to pay out twenty quid for another. This wax melter comprises two parts: a heatproof plastic base with an integral heating element and a useful on/off switch, over which sits a detachable ceramic saucer.The unit is approximately 2.5" height, and 4.5" diameter.The flex is a good long one, around 1.5 metres, no jack plug to attach, and the socket plug is a straight plug, not a transformer type.It uses more energy (11w) to heat than the aroma stone (7w), but it's still cheap to run, less than a lightbulb. The base and saucer gets very warm, but not very hot, heat is concentrated through the base of the saucer. It's a very effective, safe product. There are three little nubs which hold the underside off the surface of whatever the unit is standing on, but there is a central metal nut underneath which although it's recessed, does get hot, so your surface will have to be a hard surface, and flat.I don't use this as a wax melter (I don't really like commercially produced synthetic fragrance or petroleum based products), I prefer to use natural essential oils. This unit works perfectly well for EOs, and it gets hot enough to dissipate the essential oil fragrances without burning them. It's actually better than an Aroma Stone, because you can turn it on or off at the unit and the heating unit is more effective. You can add a little water for gummy resins or more viscous oils such as myrrh and this unit works well for these, too.I've had this one on the go, all day, every day since I bought it several weeks ago, and it's been fine, no problems at all. In fact I've just come on here to buy another one while they're still at this price. I'll ditch the wax that comes with it though, sorry Air Wick!

Isn't it nice to be pleasantly surprised by something? The receipt of this order was one such occasion for me.My expectations for this purchase were I guess middle of the road. I have tried numerous wax melts, having been disappointed with the majority of them for their paucity of scent. I already have an electric wax melter which cost four times as much as this one and so I was doubtful of the quality achieved for such a low price.And then, something incredible happened: I was wrong. Very, very wrong. I would say, at a paltry £6, this wax melt burner would give any of the more expensive options a run for their money. In the box you receive a little block of wax to be broken into three separate melts in the manner of a kitkat. The fragrance is intense and fresh, easily ridding my kitchen of overnight Pug odour. I've used the same melt a couple of days in a row (all day) and the scent has not diminished as yet, so I'm impressed with its longevity.The burner itself is in two parts and you simply plug in the base section, pop the ceramic dish containing melt on top and switch on via a button on the base. Very easy and it looks far more expensive than its lowly price tag. The quality is actually better than my original burner, however that one does light up as an additional function. We have loads of candle melts that You have to watch. This gets hot quickly but because there is no flame you can leave it unattended for a little longer. We find it works really well for the kitchen after dinner, the provided scents are very nice and the bowl is quite large so you can put larger ones in if you want to.Cleaning it out is fairly simple, just heat it for a minute or so to melt the bottom and slide it out, or heat it fully and absorb the wax into kitchen roll and wipe clean.

Absolutely love this!Pros:- Easy to use and set up- Feels more comfortable to leave it on and leave the room, unlike candles.- Lets out a strong smell and quickly melts the waxCons:- Can be quite awkward to lift out the melt after done with it, due to the curve of the bowl (unlike my other candle melt)- The wax melts that come with the device are quite low impact smells. I would recommend getting new wax melts to use as these ones aren't that strong. (I used a Yankee candle wax melt on mine)

This is a great idea and definately better than the candle burner i had previously.It all depends on the quality of wax you have in the warmer which defines how well the smell emits from the wax melter.So far i have had no issues and the melter heats up pretty quick and the smell is good enough to fill the room.Im taking a star off for the simple fact the provided wax melt are terrible!But all in all im happy with my purchase.

I make plastic model kits, many of which have transfers/decals to create aircraft markings and so on. These have to be soaked in warm water to release them from the backing paper and this wax burner is ideal for that. Applying all the decals in one session is not usually possible by filling a container with warm water as it soon goes cold, but having the wax burner on my workbench provides the perfect source of heated water. I doubt if the designers had this in mind when creating the product, but as a water heater it works beautifully.
