This fixture is somewhere between a softball and a volleyball in size, but much closer to a softball (although the photos make it look closer to the volleyball).It throws as much light as the bulb you put in it, so the brightness is very dependent on that. I hung mine over a board where I do jigsaw puzzles with a 15W LED bulb and it lights the pieces extremely well.The puzzle board brings me to my next point: the wire that it hangs by is inordinately long, unless you will be hanging it in a two-story entryway or on a vaulted ceiling (and it's a little bit small for that unless you have several). The instructions make no mention of how easy it is to adjust that length. The wire doesn't even need to be cut. Just loosen the collar on the face of the base and pull it through, then tighten again and coil the excess up in the base.Mounting it to a j-box is identical to any light fixture and very easy. Mounting it without a j-box is almost as easy. With no j-box above my puzzle board, there was no power and it needed a swag kit. If gravity doesn't eventually straighten it out I will tie some kind of temporary weight to the fixture and use a hair dryer or heat gun to "train" it straight.Just understand that this is a small fixture. It has the ability to light a large space, but it will look out of place that way and is better in a small space.

I was looking for a 3 bulbs light fixture and this one seems just right.Price is right, materials are OK.Canopy, cables, sockets, and even the glass could be better, but for the price, they are fine.My only issue was to screw the canopy.The mounting screws are too short to make the installation a breeze. 5 mm longer and life would be easy and curses would be saved.Tip: make sure you measure and test and adjust the cables length before anything. Cables are very long by default. I had the short mine.Super tip: do not tight the crossbar. If you do, the mounting screws will get shorter and tilted even making the task or align them with the canopy holes a huge PITA!Just slightly tight them. When you finally match the holes with the screws, the canopy bolts will pull the crossbar down and in place, staying firm.Overall, I was for something trivial and easy to clean.

I am getting older and need brighter lights. These lights provide that. Also, since my house has 10 foot ceilings, I was able to adjust the length of the lights accordingly .

I purchased this fixture to hang above our dining table. We have vaulted ceilings so I wasn't sure whether this would hang correctly. The fixture was easy to install, came with all the necessary parts and works just fine on a vaulted ceiling. Instead of using the glass globes I'm using custom made paper shades. Because they're so lightweight the cords haven't straightened our yet. I'm going to try hitting them with a warm hairdryer to see if that helps. I might also try temporarily adding some weight.
