Hold the device in the unaffected hand 2. Pull the slide all the way back until it swings down with the palm pad to the opening 3. Insert the affected finger until the PIP joint rests between the two upper pads 4. Swing the slide back up and into place under the fingertip 5. Press the slide forward to apply pressure and set the ratchet at maximum extension 6. Monitor fingertip and relieve pressure if circulation or sensation is lost 7.
