My experience with the Scriveiner Classic Silver Chrome fountain pen started off on a disappointing note but quickly turned into one of the best customer service encounters I’ve ever had.When I first received the pen, I was disheartened to find that the nib was not seated correctly. This resulted in excessive ink flow, hard starts, and frequent skipping—frustrating issues that no one expects from a premium writing instrument. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the tines were slightly separated, making me wonder if I had received a returned item. Additionally, it wrote more like a medium, though I purchased and expected a extra fine nib.However, this initial letdown was swiftly resolved by Scriveiner’s outstanding customer service. They were incredibly responsive and thorough, quickly arranging for a replacement. The new pen arrived promptly, and this time, it was perfect. The extra fine nib wrote exactly as it should—finer than even my Pilot pens—and has since become my go-to everyday carry (EDC) pen.Beyond its performance, the Scriveiner Classic Silver Chrome is a stunningly designed pen. It feels solid and well-balanced in hand. The chrome and gold finish exudes a refined elegance. I love love love the finial design. One of the standout features is the converter—it’s the best I’ve used, providing a smooth and reliable ink flow. Additionally, there’s a beautiful and satisfying sound and feel when you cap the pen. It’s a small but joyful detail that enhances the experience of using this exquisite pen. I'm impressed by the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating this pen.Perhaps one of the most impressive moments came after I had to set the pen aside for a few days due to illness. When I picked it up again, it wrote immediately, as if I had just used it seconds ago—something many fountain pens struggle with.Despite the rocky start, this pen has won me over completely. The combination of exquisite design, top-tier performance, and Scriveiner’s exceptional customer service makes it a worthy addition to any collection. This is a higher quality pen than you’d expect, given the price. Very smooth nib, with excellent ink flow from either cartridge or converter. Most of my use for this fine pen has been with an ink converter, but the occasional cartridge has been employed while travelling.This pen has excellent balance both posted or unposted. It sits very comfortably in my hand and writes as smoothly as you could ask for.The appearance of this pen is second to none. The beautiful gold accents on silver chrome make it one that anyone would be proud to show off in any setting. It quickly became my go-to fountain pen.I think the only thing that may surpass the look, feel, and quality is the customer support you receive as a Scriveiner customer. Inquiries are responded to quickly by an actual live human, not some chat bot or form letter.Overall, I have never purchased a better writing instrument than this pen. I would recommend it to anyone.

Heavy-duty, heavy and stable fountain pen for those of us who still enjoy writing with these instruments. Ink cartridges are easy to load and the pen writes without skips or big inkblots. An excellent product. If not used for a while, you will have to rinse the nib out under running water to loosen the dried ink inside, but that would happen with any fountain pen.

This is a beautiful pen. The ink flow is amazing; no SKIPPING! The feel in my hand is totally comfortable. On a scale of one to 10 I give it a 12. I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase. Sometimes on Amazon you have to just take a chance and with this pen, I’m completely thrilled.

This is my first ever fountain pen, and I have to say I’m very impressed so far! The appearance, functionality and quality of this pen is absolutely wonderful and the “Fine” sized Nib I selected writes beautifully, the ink flowing perfectly well and the nib gliding across the paper with ease! I am very pleased with my purchase and even more so with the wonderful custom service I received when my package arrived with both of the included ink cartridges completely empty/dried out, (apparently due to a potential temperature issue during transit to my home.) Writes like a dream; better than a lot of named brand pens at their lower end price points. Must say customer service is excellent. The first one I received had defects in workmanship. But Catherine was super helpful, and sent me a replacement which is excellent. I would recommend this brand.

This one surprised me. It writes very smoothly and fast, without skipping. For $45, this one is a steal!Writes as well as some $200 pens I own. If you’re just entering the world of fountain pens, first, welcome to the rabbit hole. It goes deep. Second, you won’t have a friggin clue what to buy. Well, there are $20 options out there from Pilot and Lamy, but most do not come with a converter. The converter is where it’s at. Change inks and colors on a whim.Third, you could spend a couple hundred bucks before you find one you like. Just try this one first. If you hate it, send it back! Gotta love Amazon. But I’d say most will keep this Scrivner!! It comes in various colors as well.

This pen looks great! I bought it as a gift to sign a marriage lic. The company had the engraving done and shipped as expected.
