Further Adventures in a fascinating world!
Sophia and her best friend, Tim, are continuing their adventures in the third book of this series. I liked that the author gave a little bit of backstory in the beginning of the book, and the characters are showing growth from their previous adventures. This adventure brings new dangers as Sophia, Tim, and their new friend Allen embark on a quest to acquire magical items to help save the island. There are more interactions with the fantastical inhabitants of the island, new dangers, and some truly surprising plot twists. The story ends on a cliffhanger that will encourage young readers to look forward to the next book in the series. This is such a fun, exciting adventure series for younger readers. In addition to the great world-building and exciting plot, there are subtle lessons in the story about such topics as friendship, trust, and emotional control.

Just as Fantastic as the First Two Books!
This series is an enjoyable, exciting read and book three is as fast-paced and interesting as books one and two. Perfect for pre-teens, or younger children who are advanced readers, the stories build well off of one another and the world-building is excellent. This book weaves important life-lessons into the story that any parent will love. Themes such as overcoming self-doubt, controlling a quick temper, and battling insecurity are seamlessly slid into the action-packed plot line. The characters real and relatable to pre-teens, and the story is wholesome without being preachy. The illustrations are just as stunning as the prior books. If you have a child or preteen in your life, start them on this series!

Next in line
Love the way Troan did the recap of the prior stories. Some authors launch in where they left off & the reader is stuck grasping fragments of memory. Other authors belabor the details of the previous story & it feels as if half the new book is a recap. Troan sneaks it in nicely and provides just the right amount. Not much story time has passed, but you can hear how much Sophia has reasonably matured and gained confidence in herself. I like the subtle growth.Same tone and pace as the prior books, but lots more magic and battles! For those that have a hard time waiting for the next book, this is your warning; It ends on a spectacular cliff hanger!

Great storytelling in a fantastical world
Sophia Freeman and the Era of Darkness by TX Troan was book 3 in the series, and even though it was a clear continuation of book 2, it didn't feel like I was missing anything not having read it. Troan did a good job recapping the important events of the previous two. This story is perfect for young adults, maybe even for advanced kids, but enjoyable as an adult as well. It was well written and imaginative. Sophia and Tim are great characters, and even though I don't personally know what they were like before this book, Sophia really struck me as a confident character as she goes through her adventures in a fantastical and magical world.I would highly recommend this and am off to read the previous two now.

Super creative series
This book really complements the series and is written so well that it keeps readers captivated. You can really see how the book ties in with the other two in the series and the storyline develops well. These books never stay flat, but keep growing in wonder and fascination for young readers. Well written and the small blips of illustration really help to keep the projected images in readers minds.

Exciting action, fun illustrations, and a good story.
This book was a lot of fun to read with my nephew, who couldn't put the book down once he started reading. My nephew loves anything fantasy related and he chewed through this book like crazy. Fun story, an imaginative world, and seeing the illustrations pop up in the book were always a treat. A great fantasy series for your pre-teen to get into the fantasy genre for sure.

A wonderful addition to the series
As the third story of the series, this story brings us on a fantastic journey-a good book with talking owls and tree-changing boys. The curses and the prophesies follow the three series. I was so excited to see this book grow. Like being on an adventure with Sophia and her friends. And as it came to a close I found myself wanting more. This is a good fantasy series. Something to read to your children and have them enjoy following Sophia and her friends on their magical adventure.

Sophia Freeman book 3
The third book of the Sophia Freeman series starts out strong. They find people washed ashore from a suspected ship wreck. One awakens and they begin to help him. A meeting occurs quickly after that to discuss the Eternal Curse and the next steps to fix it. You would be missing a lot of character history if this was your very first read of the series, but overall another great fantasy and action book for younger readers.
