This agar mix works well. It has simple directions, sets up quickly, and we've successfully cultured several specimens. We have a mini science lab set up at home, and think it's a great way for kids to explore microbiology in action!

I've used this on its own for petri dishes and mixed with an MS media for plant culturing and have had good results with both. Reliable growth and no excess contamination or anything. My only complaint is that the lid is extremely tight, which while that's great for keeping it sterile it was almost impossible to open on arrival and I've been careful not to tighten it quite so much again. I had to use an actual wrench to open it the first time and was worried I was going to pop the bottle.

The stuff is really easy to use, just like Jello. Works exactly like it is supposed to. Make sure you use sterile equipment, so you don't get any foreign bodies in your dish prematurely. It's difficult to rate this product without proper time to see the results.However, there are a lot of great things to note about it.It is a large bottle that will likely last a good amount of time.
