My First Cardigan Workbook: Knit Your Way to Success with 8 Top-Down Cardigans (Annie's Knitting)

This book is designed with very simple knits in the front of the book to more complex ones in back, depending upon the knitter's skill. All the sweaters are designed and knit top-down using circular needles. Having knit a sweater from the bottom up, I can tell you there is less hassle to insert the sleeves this way. The patterns range in size from baby to adult sizes. Useful suggestions are offered along the way, including why to use backer buttons in a knit garment.If one is looking for an easy book to read and learn from, this is the one I recommend.

This book is nice it has many patterns in it and for different age groups. It is a easy read.

Wonderful directions and cute sweaters. My only complaint is that the adult sized sweater is not the same as the child sized version as pictured on the cover. I love the spiral binding and the detailed stitch count for the patter I am making. I've found only one detail in the pattern that I don't understand and I've decided that I can work around that.

I just recently received my Cardigan workbook. My first project from this book was going to be the Basket Weave Basic cardigan however I quickly determined that the instructions for the largest size are incorrect starting with the cast on and set-up row. I was a little discouraged and since I don't know how much more of the pattern is incorrect I decided to ditch the project.

Excellent book. Makes knitting a cardigan a very easy job. I would recommend anyone who has never knitted a cardigan or any kind of sweater to at least read this book. It explains a lot of knitting procedures in simple language.

Nice book. Spiral helps in it's functionality as knitting book (you don't have to both hold your knitting, wrestle with keeping the book open for instructions on what you are doing.

Upon inspection of this book, I found the instructions easy to follow. The sweater patterns appear to range from beginner simple to a bit more difficult, and this will allow me to advance my knitting skills at my own pace. I'm not a knitting pro and have only knit scarves. Am ready to tackle knitting a top-down raglan sweater, and this book will help with the learning process.

If I could give this zero stars I would. The description is completely misleading, there are six patterns, I think, and they are ugly, and unattractive, poorly shaped with weird textures and odd colorwork, no one is going wear these hideous things. They are patterned for Baby, Women and a single Men's sweater. It suggests that you can knit each sweater in a preferred size and style, nope. Each sweater is sized specifically for its pattern, you're not knitting the baby sweater in an adult size unless you're into doing a lot of math.So disappointing, if there were more photos of the contents (and it's not a wonder why there aren't more) I would *not* have purchased this. Absolute waste of money.

I've only given 3 stars because knitting the sleeves flat, matteress stitching them and then picking up the stitches on the sleeve to knit the body makes no sense.If you put the sleeves on a spare circs and knit the body casting on the under arm stitches .when you can come back the sleeves pick up the stitches from the body and knit the stitches circulally.....no sewing and you can try it on to adjust sleeve length.Starting with the neck band already on and including the stitch count for the bands is also a good option, no sewing just ends to weave in !!!I highly recommend the waist shaping for the ladies patterns

There are plenty of tips here but the patterns are not at all inspiring. Some more inspirational designs would be great.
