Well designed, easy to attach to ladder too.
Works surprisingly well. Lots of little things were well thought out about the design. I add zip ties from each side around my ladder as well, to hold the ladder to the device, and in turn to the gutter (I don't rely on zips to hold my weight, just to keep everything tidy against the gutter).

Works great
Perfect for our roofing company

lightweight which is both good and bad - it doesn't work with gutter guards or leaf filters
Despite other reviews, I thought I could make this work with gutter leaf guards I have on my gutters. I was wrong and very sad that I was. I had high hopes for this product but it didn't work for me.It is lightweight which is good for handling and storing. I can't be sure since I wasn't able to use it but I suspect that it won't hold up to a lot of heavy use. Even so, I only get on my roof once or twice a year so I don't think that is a limitation. I do think the company name implies something other than plastic.

Broke immediately upon first use following instructions exactly
I like to think I'm somewhat reasonable with my ratings. I mean, I'm not, but I like to THINK that I am. That said, when you hear a name like "Steelman", you think "Hey, this product was probably designed with at least the slightest daydreaming of durability in mind, not Stan Lee's long forgotten less popular super-hero "Shatterface McSensitiveFeelings". My experience with this product showed me how great I am at being completely and totally incorrect. If you like being incorrect, you too should purchase this product immediately.

Functional protection when gutting up to rain gutters.
I wanted to try this as I've scratched my rain gutters in the past getting up to clean them. This works exactly as designed. I was pleasantly surprised to realize an added benefit is that it keeps your ladder from sliding sideways on the rain gutter, partly because of the black rubbery pads, but also because of the side walls. You could put tools in the part that goes in the gutter, but I probably never will. It also has a place you can use to lift and move it into place with a pole which worked surprisingly well.It does seem a bit pricey for a bit of plastic, but if it saves your rain gutters from getting scratched up, possibly worth it.

Good idea, but surprisingly thin, and several other design issues
The media could not be loaded. It's a horrible idea to lean a ladder against gutters - I see people doing it all the time, and it bends and damages gutters. It's a better idea to use a stabilizer - but that's not always practical, and it often isn't enough offset to climb onto the roof safely. This device has a clever idea - a spacer to put inside the ladder for it to safely lean against.Unfortunately the execution on this is lacking quite a bit. I'm extra cautious around ladders, since ladder accidents are the number one type of household injury. So this thing is thermoplastic and very thin. It's as thin as a child's toy. This really needs to be made from a sturdier material. The no-slip pads aren't really no-slip. I'll need to yank them off and install something else. You attach it with a pole from the ground, which is a good idea, but the pole portion isn't threaded. I presume that's because they want you to be able to easily remove the pole if it's a long pole, such as the 2nd story. Still, though, when you're lifting it up it's basically balanced on the pole - a small gust could easily knock it off your pole and land on someone's head. It's a safety issue for me.There are some other issues with this device. Good idea, but I hope they take these suggestions to heart, because I have a hard time recommending it.

It’ll Work But It Isn’t All That Great…
The media could not be loaded. This one was a big disappointment in build quality and materials as well as overall design deficiencies. I am a Contractor and Business Ower it is is my business working with tools like this all day, everyday and this one let me down based on my expectations and the price point.First off the rubber on this is not grippy and is rather slick and the rib pattern is opposite of what would make the ribbing effective during use. Second is the plastic is flimsy and it bends and flexes easily. Third, there is no threads inside the hole for the pole to screw into and the pole just rest in the slot all loose and stuff. That makes the gutter guard not all that easy or predictable to handle, especially if using a really long pole on a really tall house. Not to mention it is not securely attached and if it gets bumped or knocked off the pole it will be sailing back down right at your head or face. Fourth is there is no inside protection to keep from scratching up the gutters or to keep it from sliding from left to right or right to left. The price of this item and the word “STEELMAN” really lead me to believed that this would be a solid and well thought out piece of gear and it falls short in a variety of ways. I would not order it again and while it will work and do the job It wouldn’t be my first pick if I had others laying around that were made better. Can speak for longevity but it doesn’t inspire confidence in that regard due to how flexy it is and how the materials feel in my hand.Knowing what I know now, I would skip this one. This is simply to pricey for what it actually is in hand. The price is $49.99 at the time of this review.

The Steelman Gutter Guard and Ladder Stabilizer works like a dream to protect my gutters
I didn't know that these ladder stabilizers existed until I found it on Amazon. I've always had trouble cleaning my gutters because they aren't strong enough to withstand the weight of me on the ladder when I put it up against them. This tool is amazing. It fits in the gutter and supports the ladder to keep from crushing it. It's by far better and safer using this than it is to try to put the ladder under it and absolutely no damage to the gutters. I would definitely purchase this again.
