Q: Does it work in passive mode? w/o usb power just passtrhu 1 amp to 1 set of speakers?

The instructions are to use the meter in passive mode by using the amp-B and speaker-2 selections. This is what I use and it works perfectly. BTW, turning the meter on while listening does not introduce any “pop” or other noise.

Q: What other model from douk provides switching 2 in and 2 out using rca plugs in lieu of banana plugs?

This is speaker selection device so it uses speaker inputs and outputs. Douk does make component switching devices that will have RCA inputs and outputs for audio components (not speakers). Not sure if they have 2 in, 2 out but there are many others that do. Search RCA audio switcher
