Is it ready to use once assembled

Yes. The xArm software is pretty easy to use. The initial setup is straightforward. The serial servos are very elegant. When assembling think ahead about the wiring. You may need to thread the wires as you assemble the arm rather than at the end.

Lifting power in grams?

Probably only about 100g. The servos have an overload cutout so you cannot damage them.
