Excellent intro to vCarve
An excellent simple text on getting started with vCarve. It is just a pity that there is no free hobby version of the vCarve program.

Needs more info.
This is a comprehensive book but could do with more dealing of the subject. What there is in the book I found informative but somehow I feel that there should be more chapters on the subject. What there is in this book is good though. I think the publishers should reduce the price a bit.

Quite a thin book but well written for a beginner
Firstly I was surprised at how thin the book was but that said, it is well written and is aimed at the beginner to cnc routing. The author uses one computer program throughout as an example but that's to be expected and I think most of the information would help if you were using a different program.Nicely illustrated and not too technical so as to overwhelm a beginner. The author shows you how to make a house sign which is probably a good first project to attempt.Pleased I bought it but will need something more advanced as I progress.

The "highway code" for starting out in CNC Routing.
I purchased a CNC machine a week ago, I used the book as a cross check on what I have done so far, it will become my key to map out the start of my learning process for tooling requirements including software, safety and research. I had gone down the route of complex formula's and things were getting complicated. Now know what many of the settings on the CNC machine's candle program mean and how important it is to set the machine up correctly. The book is basic and definitely for us Newbies, it unlocks some of the mysteries, it touches on many subjects and should be read a couple of times. Like the highway code it is the guideline to what you should do, it gets you started, a foundation, more learning will come from experience. I already have a further reading / viewing list triggered by this little book.

Unfortunately, this book has been overtaken by events.
This book dates from 2018 so the suggested software (V-Carve) has moved on and no longer incudes the templates used in the text. You will have to purchase the VERY expensive full version of V-Carve to be able to output to a CNC Router as the demo version does not include that functionality. Consequently it's not possible to follow the exercises and produce a house nameplate. The example project would also be too large for many routers. The technical pages on router bits, etc are useful, however.
