I bought this 4 yrs ago and it has been on my dishwasher door since then. It adheres to the dishwasher door so well (no issues with movement as door opens and closes multiple times daily). It can be removed easily to clean the door too even though the magnetic is really strong.The sliding feature is great as my family of 5 know when the dishwasher needs to be emptied (I move the slide to "clean" as soon as I turn the dishwasher on). No more issues with kids doing their chores or claiming they "didn't know" if the dishes are clean or dirty (insert eye roll, personally I think it's obvious!). When they finish emptying the dishwasher they click it to "dirty" so the whole family knows and they aren't stacking dirty dishes in the sink for me to do at the end of the day. Buy this and save the arguments for who is in charge of the tv remote instead ;)

Update: I received a new version of this slider which addressed my initial concern. The slider now sits in place when toggled to clean or dirty and is not easily swiped out of position. While I love this design, my father says that he has a hard time reading it so that would still be a comment to offer. If visibility isn't a problem, this is a tasteful solution.Previous comment & 2-star rating: While I love the idea of this product and appreciate the fact that it's really good looking, the functionality is flawed. Since day one, a slight brush of the slider or movement created by opening the dishwasher causes the indicator to move sideways on its own. If the slider was sturdier in its resting place or clicked into position, this would be a winner. We've gone back to using our handwritten sign on the counter.

The result is much better. I also uploaded the side by side comparison pictures.As you can see in the pictures, the new design (upper) is much more readable at different angle and various lighting condition than the old one (lower).In addition, the sliding plate has a light detent when sliding from side to side now. Compare to the free-sliding feeling, it is much more difficult to move the sliding plate by accident now. I also added a video to demonstrate the difference.Due to the improvement, I changed my score from 4 to a perfect 5 star now. It’s good to know Glide Signs actually listen to their users feedback. Currently there is not a lot of force to keep it from sliding toward the middle so it can be moved very easily, especially it is sticking out from the dish washer's surface

Looks great and more professional. However, i am greatly disappointed as product over time becomes too loose. Example, open the dishwasher door to remove a plate or something, close it, and your clean dishes that read clean, will now read dirty. It slides way to easy; basically won't stay still and moves around every time you open the dishwasher. Yes, you suppose to put dishes away, and I do. Same holds true when you select dirty. As you load dirty dishes in, the sign keeps sliding around. I'll have to try and jury rig it with paper behind it or something.

The product didn't stick to my dishwasher but 'no biggie' I thought because it came with this really cool double stick pad. Problem is no instructions, not even photos of where to put the tacky part. I put it in the middle because I thought for sure you wouldn't want to put it on the magnets. Didn't work fell off the first time I closed the dishwasher. UGH Sending it back was a hassle so I was hanging onto it to see what I could do. Then I had to hang up something else that needed double sided something or other as it was a nice plaque handmade for me and found these cool Comand Strips so I tried that and it worked but OVER the magnets. Just a simple piece of paper to explain that the double-sided sticky pads NEED to go over the magnet would have been super helpful.

This is my new favorite gadget. I always rinse my dishes before putting it in the dishwasher, my kids and husband won't know if they don't examine closely, so they ask me all the time if the dishes are clean or not. When I saw this lovely sign, I knew I have to get. Very high quality. The metal and sign looks very elegant, and the magnet is very strong! Yet, it won't scratch the surface. The glide sign is very smooth without having to put in effort when sliding. Most importantly, it looks very very beautiful in my stainless steel dishwasher. Looking at the quality, I think it will last for many many years. It is very sturdy and one of those product that quality can be compared to Apple products, except that this is not electronics.See it for yourself. I will be buying these for Christmas to my friends and family! Very highly recommended.

Great looking magnet. The heft and feel of the aluminum is high quality. The finish on the material is lightly textured and makes gripping and moving it easy. The problem is the fit of the sliding piece. It was the perfect resistance for the first few weeks of use but then became to loose. Then, when the dishwasher door was opened or closed, the slider would move on its on. An indicator magnet is useless If the slider doesn't stay in place. I threw it out and ordered a brand that has magnets to hold the slider in position.

UPDATE: After I submitted my review, I was contacted by the company via email. They were incredibly polite and expressed their dismay over the faulty product, explained how they'd improved it, then offered to ship a replacement to me free of charge. I accepted and the new sign arrived shortly. It works really really well and is as handy as I'd hoped it would be! Another note, when the first one broke I was able to pry it off of my dishwasher with no residue left behind.I was happy with this for maybe the first two uses, then the slider started resisting movement back and forth, and eventually wouldn't budge. Useless.

Works exactly as described. Good strong magnet and easy to slide (but not so easy you would do it accidentally)

My husband now knows when not to add dirty dishes to the freshly cleaned load.... Hehe

Does exactly as it advertises. It's nice a solid. I like that it isn't plastic. I did not give it five stars because it is ridiculously overpriced! It's unfair that Canadians get priced gouged on these; amazon.com has these for much much cheaper but of course they won't ship them to Canada. Still, I'm very happy with purchase. Would work better if family would just slide to clean when starting dishwasher.
