A GREAT replacement pump at less than 1/3 of the cost!

The media could not be loaded. I installed our pondless waterfall in the fall of 2021. It's a great water feature for our front yard and we greatly enjoy having it. The pondless waterfall came as a kit which included an Aquasurge 2000 submersible pump rated at 2000 GPH.That pump, which I reviewed under "Aquasurge 2000" is a great pump. Unfortunately, in a little over 3 years of service I've now had two pumps go bad and, at a cost of over $300 it becomes an expensive maintenance cost. After many hours of research, I decided to give the Vivosun 3000 a chance. The waterfall has been out of service for a week and when the pump arrived today I got to work. the Vivosun 3000 is noticeably smaller than the Aquasurge 2000, so I was immediately skeptical that it would deliver 3000 GPH. But, it seems very well made and has a solid feel, so if it at least equaled the output of the pump I was replacing, I'd be happy. The discharge port on the Vivosun is the same size as on the Aquasurge, but sits 2-1/4" lower. The easy-enough fix was to fashion a stand-off, using spare PVC parts I had on hand. This raised the port to the same height as the Aquasurge, and made attaching the Vivosun to the waterfall supply line a "plug and play" replacement. After connecting the pump to the waterfall supply line, the moment of truth had arrived. Will the $75.00 Vivosun 3000 give at least the same performance as the much more expensive $320 Aquasurge 2000?I have to say, I was actually excited when I plugged the pump in and watched the waterfall come back to life!! And the answer to the question "Does it work and is it worth it" is a resounding YES!I don't have a way to measure the actual flow-rate, but the waterfall certainly is more robust than with the old pump. This was an easy replacement (with a few extra steps needed to build a riser platform). It performs wonderfully, and saved a good deal of $$ in the process. If this pump, running 12 hours a day, 24/7 on a timer as the old one did, lasts a year or more it will be well worth the cost. At this point I highy recommend this pump for my type of application. Good job Vivosun!

I love the 100W-1600GPH version of this pump

Great pump. This is my second. I bought the first one 3 years ago. It runs 7x24 from spring through fall, and I leave it in the pond over the winter. No issues with freezing or clogging. Cord is long and the pump has no issue pushing water through a ~10 foot hose with ~4' of elevation gain and delivering solid flow.

More powerful and effective.

This pond pump is a replacement for my current one. It is a smaller pump, but much more efficient. It pumps as stated 2700 gallons per hour, and does a better job of eliminating debris, algae, and other pollutants. Well pleased.

Great pump, great value, all around strong pump

Update 7/13/2021: i ordered another one as my pump all the sudden stopped spinning again. i remembered to try cleaning it again like back in 2020 and this thing is working like a champ again. Love this pump. Keeping the new order as a back up for when cleaning no longer works.Ive been using this pump since july 2019 , about 10 months now. It seemed to stop working may 11th 2020 as the fan stopped spinning when it was plugged in. Fortunatley I was able to remedy it by removing the fan and cleaning out the magnet housing inside which looked to be caked up with built up film, using a tooth brush. It is a little tricky to unlock the fan from its housing, you will need a flat screw driver something to lightly hammer the screw driver and something to wedge inbetween the screw driver and the point that locks in the fan.In addition, i messaged vivosun and they graciously offered me a solution to either refund or replace the product at no cost to me. I have to say that was very nice of them on their part. Fortunately I didnt have to take them up on their offer so kudos to them for customer service. The pump i purchased was the 4500gph version which they do not have listed anymore but i would venture to say that the higher and lower units are both probably good and worth the try and value. The 4500gph is really strong, i did no testing to show the output is actually 4500gph since well I dont know how. But, i can say it flips my 1700gallon fish pond over rather well causing enough flow that my pond stays clear. The flow was so much that i had to add two diy overflow 2" pipes to a 1 1/2 and 2" pipe outlets for the return. This thing easilly shoots up water 4' off the ground. The intake fans seem to be designed in away that algae/debrie does not clog up on it or at least i havent had that issue as of yet. However the cover to the fans can get clogged if its not ventilated well for flow or if the debri is too big and cakes up around the entire inlet casing. As i mentioned earlier, the fan can stop if film from debrie and water minerals forms a film on the inside of the motor and the fan magnet itself. in the inside of the magnet housing the fan rests in.My only consistent complaint i have about this pump as another customer has mentioned is the inlet cover that protects the fan. It is loose and can come off if not secured in some way. It does not lock well in its current design. I use pvc piping to connect to the outlet on the cover and secure rhe cover from coming off by usinf large stones inside a bucket that holds the fan in place. The pvc piping basically gets hold by the stones which inturn keeps the cover from moving. Im sure one can find other clever ways to keep it on. This pump can take either hosing or pvc piping, which us great because i prefer pvc over hoses for this thing. Also the pvc connectors can easilly be found at home depot. There are a few options to connect it, i used a threaded coupler with smooth end to attach pvc. I forgot what size but it shouldnt be too hard to figure it out.I would recommend anyone to try vivosuns models of this type of pump. The cost and effeciency is worth it.I do not believe my pump stopping due to the film build up was a defective reason and more of a wear and tear cause so well see as i continue to use the one i currently have.

Smaller pump will clog easy.

Great price but order as large a pump as your budget will allow. The smaller pumps do not have the amperage to power thru a slight koi pond/water garden clog. I’m now using the 5300 for about 750 gallon water garden and it works well.

Pond pump

Works great. The bag that it comes with helps a lot. Easy to rinse off.
