Absaloutly STUNNING Hair color!

The media could not be loaded. This Henna worked AMAZING for hair color! It ended up being the exact thing I wanted!I've used 3 different hair dyes trying to get the ginger I wanted and I've never been happy, so I figured why not try Henna. I mixed my Henna with Greek yogurt for a thicker consistency as well as hot Chamomile tea for a more golden color and Lemon to lighten slightly. I left the mixture to sit (covered with a paper towl for about 6 hours before applying, and I couldn't be happier with the results! I have very long THICK hair and I ended up using 1.5 boxes of the Henna powder. (I used half a freshly squeezed lemon and a medium size Greek yogurt, smaller than a Quart but bigger than a single serve chobani)The smell wasn't amazing, but it was earthy and much better smelling than chemical hair dye. It was messy as heck, but that was partially my fault as I added to much water to my mixture so it was extremely drippy, i ended up wrapping my head in plastic wrap and a towl to keep it from getting on everything. I kept it on for about 3.5 hr and it came out a perfect bright ginger. Obviously I started with a darker blonde, so it ended up lighter on me than it would on a brunette, but I have to reiterate how pleased I am. It looks very natural, and I got 2 comments the day after dying it on how pretty my "natural red hair" was. My hair is def in better condition than if i had chemically dyed it, although the tips are a tad dry (this is something I already struggle with though). All in all10/10 recommended, I will 100000% be using it again!

Still amazing even after a decade.

The henna I have received so far is from the 07/2023. That's nearly nine months old. The fresher the henna the better stain. I used to practice henna tattoos and dyed my hair red. Jamila was always my favorite as it never had the chunks of plants and always dyed a beautiful red. First photo is of my second dye. This dye I used apple cider vinegar and lemon juice ONLY. I wrapped my CERAMIC bowl in a towel and let it sit on top of my warm oven for a couple of hours. I put the henna in and left it in for seven hours. I wrapped in a shower cap, then a garbage back, and wrapped a towel on my head to keep in warm. Twice I used my hair dryer and blew in around my henna soaked hair (still wrapped) to add extra heat. Second, photo is my first dye. Didn't do a whole lot, added some warm oranges. This one I did a long slow release with red wine and lemon juice and black tea. I waited it for it to release for 48 hours and spaced out and went outside in the cold. I think that messed up the dye. Third, photo is months of dying my hair with mostly Jamila henna. The last photo is my natural color. I am dirty blondish color.

Happy henna'ed long hair

Doing my second application tonight so I figured this would be a good time to leave my review!First application was on 5/2/17 -- see before, after, and 4 week pictures attached. My hair is waist length, thick and naturally light brown with blonde highlights. (It is just a boring, unsaturated color, but I like the natural highlights.) The "before" picture actually makes it look a little redder than it naturally is, unfortunately. It was also dirty and a bit wavy from being in a bun. ( See the second pic for a better "before" color reference.) The difference between my before and after IRL was pretty huge. My hair started out with "reverse ombre" because I stopped dying it almost black dark brown, and let my natural color grow in. The ends were a bit damaged from all the chemical dye.The first day or two I had what some might call call "orange fright" -- it was very, very orange. I had wanted more burgundy, but I like having weird colored hair, so it was fine by me. By week 4 it had settled into a natural looking auburn, and my natural highlights are still there. As of this review, it's almost week 6 now, and the color has not faded from the week 4 picture, but my roots are starting to show and it's looking a little colorless up top again.I am really happy with the conditioning effect it's had on my hair, in addition to adding a little color.I'm going to leave it on for 6+ hours tonight and hope for a darker, more burgundy tone. I'll update my review with another before/after pic for my second application.UPDATE! Second application was a major success! I mixed the 100g with hot water, and let it sit in my warm garage for 2 hour. Then applied and left on for *6* hours. Yes, SIX! Let it air-dry overnight in twisted plaits to get curls, and vavavoom, I am in love!! See the third pic.

**revised review** must use proper process for skin

First 3 pictures:Mixed salt on accident into my henna. Added salt peppermint and lemon juice and only left one my skin for 1 hour.2nd 3 pics:Mixed henna and lemon juice to thin yogurt consistency, added sugar, then added peppermint (just added enough so the consistency was the correct thickness) waited 24-36 hours to apply, applied and left for 15 min then sprayed with sugar water. Left on over night. The following day I put essential oil mixture on the design.Still not as dark as I’m used to but for $7 it’s a GREAT deal!
