Gorgeous lamp -- just be careful not to scratch the glass globe
This lamp arrived with high expectations because of all the positive reviews. Well, add my praise to the list, it is as lovely as everyone said it was. I am very happy I bought it.Now -- a word of caution. I put the globe onto the stand (you pinch the two metal prongs together so the globe fits over them) and then I noticed there was a slight swirl pattern on one side that I wanted to face more forward so I could see it better, and I turned the glass globe by hand. That was a mistake -- it caused one of the metal prongs to scratch the inside of the globe. Thankfully, it is hard to see, but if you want to rotate the glass globe once it is on -- don't. Instead, pull it back off, carefully, lift until you can pinch the prongs together and lift the globe off. Then re-position and put it back, carefully pinching those prongs to slide it back on.Also, I ended up at my local Ace hardware store to buy a bulb since it didn't come with one. There were limited choices, but I got a 25W decorative incandescent frosted flame tip bulb by Westinghouse, candelabra base (E12) -- it fits and it works.

Great lamps, but....
Received the lamps today. They are well made, were shipped with care and look great on either side of my fireplace mantel. Only drawback? The electrical cord comes out the left side, rather than the back of the lamp. So in tandem and facing forward, both cords are exposed around the base. Not too bad though since the woodwork and mantel are very darkly stained and the cord is brown, but still...would have been 5 Star rating save for this one flaw.

Well worth the price
I bought this for my sister who was floored by it, and she really is very picky about what goes into her home. So to see her light up when we opened up the package was great.Being an internet purchase you're not always sure you made the right call, but this was one of those internet purchases that could not have worked out better. The lamp looks better than the photo here and actually puts out a little more light than you might expect, plus it has looks of real era lamp. The detail is clean and the lines are great, I can only imagine what the original cost, but in my honest opinion this lamp makes a great gift and I would do it over.I have to say by looking you cannot tell it's a cold cast bronze resin powder lamp, it looks like a bronze statue lamp from the era. The only problem I have now is I think I'll be buying one for my desk :)

Arrived broken, twice
Arrived broken, twice, really nice lamp, but the globe is paper thin glass and the original order and the replacement arrived broken. Just gave up at that point, was supposed to be a mother's day gift, not happy at all.

More beautiful in person.
I thought this was going to be really pretty... I had no idea how amazing it looks in person. I converted our guest room into a mystery-lover's/Agatha Christie reading room for my wife. All deco and 1920's looking. And this lamp is PERFECT! It's the perfect size for a bookshelf or console table and it is stunning. The photo doesn't do it justice. It isn't as "golden" or "copper-ish" as the photo indicates. It's more subtle. A cross between worn bronze and pewter. The angles are sharp and defined and have the amazing economy of line the 1920's are so well known for. My wife was in tears (of joy) when she saw the room. She too was blown away by this lamp... I know it sounds silly to be so pleased with a lamp but this thing is really a piece of art.

Beautiful
These lamps are beautiful. Nice quality. Feels like bronze, though probably not as heavy as it would be if it was solid bronze (of which I'm glad). There are two things that could be improved: position the wire in such a way that you could display the lamp from either side. I bought two, so the cord is noticeable on one of the lamps since they are facing each other. Also, you can see a bit of the wire that holds the globes in place through the globe when it's lit. It's a small thing some won't notice, but it's slightly annoying. Neither of these issues are prominent enough for me to mark it down a star, because they are really beautiful lamps.

Globe arrived broken
I fell in love with this lamp when I saw one at Bathtub Gin in New York City, but unfortunately when it arrived the globe was already broken.

Lovely Art Deco Table Lamp
This lamp is just what I was looking for. We needed a small lamp to put on a hall table to provide enough light at night so we don't have to use the overhead hall lights. I wanted something in the Art Deco style with a tasteful nude. I feel this must be a reproduction of an original piece, and it is a good one. The picture does not do the lamp justice, because you have to see the globe lit up to get the full effect. This lamp does what I wanted it to, is so good looking, and uses such a small bulb, we leave it lit all the time.
