Great Coffee.

Great coffee for my Quick Mill Anita Espresso machine.I always bought fresh roasted coffee because my machine wouldn't work well with anything else, but decided to give this a try. Much to my surprise, it works very well. Smooth, velvety, chocolate taste. Heavyish mouthfeel. Great for cappuccino. Zero acidity, at least to my palate.Overall, a solid espresso.

A truly exceptional espresso shot

There’s more to getting a perfect espresso shot than the coffee. But if you’ve calibrated the fineness of your grind for a mid-20 second shot, and the you’ve got the temperature and pressure right, Masini might very well give you the best tasting shot of espresso you’ve ever had. I have a loyalty to a local friend and roaster whose espresso I’ve always really liked, but after being served what was a spectacular shot of Essse Masini, I had to make the switch. This is the best espresso I’ve ever had — alone or in milk drinks. Definitely exceptional.

Better than it has rights to be

This is for the Miscela Masini 1 kilo bag. The coffee arrived today but was roasted 9 months ago. I had read on Home-Barista.com of how the robusta selection and roasting methods used in this blend would allow for a flavorful espresso long after the coffee should still be good. I wanted to taste this for myself. The expected burnt rubber & solvent aromatics of robusta were negligible in this blend. Instead, the aromatics were like brandy, oak, and other distilled spirits. There wasn’t much crema but it’s also 9 months old so I’m sure it has lost a lot of its carbon dioxide. Acidity was mild. I don’t do milk drinks but this would be great with them.Despite its age and differences to specialty coffees, this is the best robusta blend I’ve tried for espresso. Unlike so many other coffees this seems designed to age. This is one bag of robusta I’m not throwing out.Parameters used: 18g ground at 18 on a calibrated Niche Zero, 93°, 36g out, at 1g/sec.

Incredible bean

I only make espresso with these beans running through a Slayer with a Mahlkonig for a grinder-nuff said on equipment. My first 3 lbs came perfectly sealed and vacuum packed hard as brick-very fresh, incredible flavor and crema. I store my beans with vacuum every day to keep fresh. My last bag arrived on time and loose, clearly not sealed whatsoever. When I wrote the seller this politely it was clear they could care less, hence the 3 stars not 5. If you pay this much for beans they ought to come correct. I wasnt asking for a refund but I didnt care to be blown off either. Hopefully next order is on track-one more bag like that however and Im done.

Great espresso that tastes like a Roman coffee in Rome

90% Arabica, 10% high quality Indian Robusta. Vacuum packaged. Yes, the bag isn't 3rd wave fresh. You aren't going to get a 7 day post-roast bag. But Italian companies that mass produce their coffees like Essse Caffe blend, roast and package their beans with staling in mind. The Robusta present readily lends this coffee a longevity beyond the oft prized notion of "freshness" you would expect from, for example, a modern single origin. This tasted no different than a 10 day old Italian blend I ordered from Buon Giorno Coffee roasted locally in Texas. Obviously, unlike truly fresh beans, once open, do vacuum freeze the rest that you won't get to right away.

Smooth and rich flavor

These beans offer very smooth and rich espresso taste. Best coffee available in the US.

Beware if sold by Mati Coffee !

Coffee was roasted 10 months ago and the coffee bag was damaged despite that the shipping packaging was in good condition. I expected imported beans to be older but not that old (however some say stale robusta taste better, its not the end of the world :) and more care taken to ensure product was shipped out and arrived in better condition. This seller also does not accept returns by policy even if the product is defective.

Maybe the best Italian coffee available online

In its own, ESSSE is a premium brand, part of Segafredo group. Think Lexus vs.Toyota. ESSSE (or actually, SSS) is the Italian acronym for Science, Knowledge, Specialisation.I've tried 3 ESSSE offering so far. Selezione, Speciale, and Masini, all of then available @ amazon.Speciale (red bag) is good but isn't that special, I would put it at the same level of a good Lavazza. Same price as well.Selezione (the black bag) is the strongest and boldest. Beans are a little oily as well.Masini (velvet red shiny bag) is quite more nuanced and delicate than the former. You can tell the added Robusta was selected to complement and enhance the flavour and not as a caffeinated filler.
