Powerful fan and great value

Amazon came up trumps for this device, quick delivery on Prime and at time of purchase it was 30% cheaper than a popular UK catologue based diy retailer. The fan itself is a substantial item and dwarfed the failed in-line fan that it replaced but as it’s designed for the loft space itself this should not be a problem. In operation the fan is very quiet, however in the bathroom itself it appears to be loud - this is not a design issue of the fan but more the impact of airflow through the vent and duct. There may be solutions using alternative vents or ducting but although the noise was louder than expected and louder than the bare fan itself it was quiet enough not to be an issue in the bedroom where this en-suite fan was installed. The timer is set to minimum run on so remember to adjust for personal needs, I don’t enjoy working in the attic so have left as is. Instructions are clear and the build quality appears good. This review is after 2 months of use in summer so I can’t confirm the long-term reliability or how effective it is at reducing bathroom humidity in cooler weather but the results so far are positive. If there is any change of opinion following long term experience I will update this review. So far I am happy and have installed in both bathrooms of our home.

Powerful and fairly quiet

Inline extractor for bathroom, mostly steam from shower. Pig mi installed this earlier this week and have yet to test it fully on removing steam from shower. It has 3 speed settings and a variable after lights off runover. At the moment it's on its highest setting and the noise level is acceptable. I will try the mid speed setting later on to see if that's quieter. I should add that the extractor is fitted in the kitchen so although it's fairly quiet is in a place where the sound is obvious. If it was in a loft you'd never hear it. It was easy to fit and does need to be firmly attached to something like a wall or boards.I think it was good value at £60, I've seen the same thing advertised for just under £100

Good airflow, eliminates misting up and condensation, well made, powerful. A bit fiddly to install.

This was a straight swap-out for a cheaper model that had finally given up the ghost (the bearings were incredibly noisy and the fan often just did not run) that was sited in the attic above the bathroom. As all the ducting was already in place I swapped this out in about 15 minutes. The only fiddly bits was the wiring in a cramped attic space and the setting for the timeout. I set it to about half way but the fan kept going and going... So I had to remove all four screws from the cover (and not lose them), set the timeout control to something less (there's no indication of what it might be) and try again. By trial and error I got it close to the 15 minute target, but it loses a star because if the time-out control had been external to the electrical connections box it would have taken far less time to do all this. It's solidly made - or perhaps I should say more solidly made than the dinky little plastic fan it replaced, but it's still plastic. I have some metal 150mm hydroponics extractor fans running continuously for the last 5 years without a murmur so I'm hoping this bathroom extractor fan that runs for perhaps 30 minutes a day will have a long life too.If you're worried about the noise then I highly recommend that you use 100mm noise reducing ducting (as used in hydroponics). It's not expensive and just about eliminates any noise from the fan. It's comprised of a central, perforated duct surround by noise reducing insulation - have a look on the Internet and you'll see what I mean. It's quite different to the tumble dryer style ducting normally used which just transmits the sound from one end to the other.Place the fan on a sound absorbing piece of sponge or similar (on a board) and you'll hardly know the fan is on (apart from the noise of the air being sucked in). It certainly has a very good airflow and clears my bathroom nicely even on cold days when condensation would normally be a problem.I'm delighted with this and can only recommend it.

Overal performance

I’ve a total of 7 of these units now in my house now. Having had two of them for two years, I’m happy with their overall performance and therefore bought 3 more.Ive placed these units on piping insulation form and lightly screwed down and they are perfect with no vibration. The bedroom ones ive placed in the loft area but above the bathrooms and they are not screwed down or on form and they haven’t moved or create any more noise or vibration but being above the bathroom prevents what noise you can hear off them which is air movement noise so there is no excessive noise. The bedroom ones are not on a timer but on a switch which my boys can control to suck out hot air and pump cool air in .The bathroom ones; one is on the Monrose inbuilt timer which is easy to setup and the other two are on smart sockets with PIR sensors in the room ( Philips Hue smart socket and PIR controlled). All are installed with 1.5mm cable, fused and on accessible isolation switches too.Great units versatile and easy to clean plus you can rotate the body so you could mount then on angles.

Excellent in line extraction fan

Bought 2, both for for bathrooms that required long lengths of ducting to get to outside walls ( c.3m). Simple to install and set timer. Very powerful and quiet, been in situ for a few months now and work very well preventing condensation and steaming up. Great value and robust.

Its a solid inline extractor fan.

This, Manrose, MF100T, is a slightly different model to my old inline extractor fan, but was a straight replacement.Quality is solid and installation was easy. I did it myself and I'm not a DIY fan.Its got 3 speed settings, I'm running it on fast, and its doing a great job without being too noisy. The max overrun is 30mins by turning the pot all the way to the right. Its been in a couple of days now and so far very happy with it.
